LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT SEASON......

Sun Apr 06, 2014 3:50 pm

I know it's difficult but if we can just put to one side the Malky, Ole, Red, Blue, Tan rebrand discussion for 5 minutes and try to focus on how the hell we are going to try to put matters right on the pitch for next season :bluescarf:

I'm going to assume 2 things are going to happen, firstly we will be relegated (bit of a no brainer I know) and secondly our better players Marshall, Medel, Caulker and Mutch are all going to want to ply their trade in the Premier League next season.

If we sell these players in the summer, I'm guessing that we won't be getting full value for what we have paid out for them or what they could be worth. Add to this that the priority of the club has to be to bounce back up to the Premier League at the first attempt and we have a difficult problem.

Do we sell them and let the manager build a new team for the Championship and then buy better players if we are promoted?
OR, in my opinion the sensible option, should we loan these 4 out to Premier League teams to keep them happy and gain vital experience at the top level? We could then bring them back if we are promoted or sell them if we fail.

Thoughts?......

Wigan got full value for there players and kept hold of the players they wanted ,remember we dont have to sell players if we dont want too ,

Good point Wez, but holding onto players who want leave might cause problems behind the scenes and work against the team.

If Tan states we are going straight back up, but he will not stop any player progressing we will get full value....The parachute payments are huge, so we don't have to sell.

Tan needs to play this sensibly, which is debatable.....

All good and well but the on the pitch troubles are caused by the off the pitch troubles.
Take a good look at our squad list, it's oozing with quality and potential, all that is missing is the support.

I looked around the stadium on 19 minutes in the first half, it was amazing, Blue everywhere (except the grandstand) that was the biggest message ever to vincent tan as to what the majority want. If he's ever gonna change it, he'll do it at the end of this season, if he doesn't, then he never will.

Then i looked around on 89 minutes, and there I saw the true problem, We had just spent the majority of the game whinging and moaning every misplaced pass or skyed shot, moaning at our own players!!! yes they get paid loads, but they didn't ask for it , their agents did. They might have cost Millions, but they didn't set that price, the clubs did. They didn't walk into the jobcentre to get a job as a pro footballer, someone saw them playing on a park somewhere and decided they'd make money off them.

We are to blame, the supporters,

Put big leo in that team, takes hours to turn on the ball, we would boo him

Earnie used to miss the majority of his shots at goal, we never booed him i bet his shot to goal ratio is worse than Gestedes

how many goals did we concede when Spencer Prior slipped as he went for the ball? loads, but we never booed him, we just sung his name even more.

our problem is we don't encourage and support our team any more, we just pay our money and expect the world.

so in answer to your question, we need to properly unite, Blue, Red, Tan or No Tan, Together as Cardiff City FC.

I can agree with a lot of that post tbh.

The contrast between our fans and the Palace lot was quite startling. Their club has no money, no expensive players, a shit ground but they have unity and a sense of togetherness which we can only dream of :(

I think we should sell Marshall, caulker, fabio, Medel and KTC cause no doubt their wages are sky high and with the debt we're gonna be in or are in isn't gonna help in the championship. If not sell them loan them!

I honestly don't think we'll go straight back up reasons being 1. We need to proper clear out and bring in a lot of new players and 2. Cause ole in charge
