I was happy with the 11 yesteday

Sun Apr 06, 2014 11:21 am

When I saw the 11 yesterday I thought it was promising. Looked like 4-4-2 to me with Jones and Campbell upfront. Quite attacking line up. Then I saw Campbell left wing. We go all out attack at home to Liverpool and then play 4-5-1 at home against Crystal Palace. I didn't understand it. Zaha should have been dragged off after 20 mins and thrown out of the stadium. No changes half time although it was obvious it wasn't working.

No passion, no pride, no effort from any player on the pitch. They scored their 2nd so I looked towards Caulker, our captain, was he trying to get the players going? No, head down strolling upfield. Look towards Ole, nothing again. We are lacking in real leaders. There have been too many games when we simply haven't turned up, both under Malky and Ole.

How can you be happy with that 11 when that 11 includes Andrew Taylor FFS he hasn't got a clue how to defend,he gives his opponent far too much room, league 1 player at best

Declan John is just as bad, or are we making excuses for him because he's a local lad?

but jones and campbell never linked up once,i said it before and i say it again, campbell runs his socks off,but he is never in the goal scorring position.....he needed to be playing off jones, not out wide... :ayatollah:

That's what confused me. Dhaeli (who had a decent game) should have been wide and Campbell upfront in a 4-4-2

I think he ends to be playing instead of jones up top .

We get ripped apart down the left no matter who has been left back. Not sure if he's injured, was he on the bench?

4-4-2 is dated a number ten is required and we really haven't got one (Mutch is about it and then we don't have enough midfield players) you just get over run in midfield in 4-4-2 it's the Dave Jones problem.

Declan was not on the bench nor kim nor whitts
442 can work but the 2 up front must close down
which is why imo bellamy and cambell are the best combination up front for us if we go 442 :ole:

campbell played left midfield

I though campell did well, along with mutch and daehli the best cardiff players. Medel was terrible. Overpriced and plays the worst game of the season when it matters the most.

What is wrong with 4-5-1? It turns to a 4-3-3 when attacking and 4-5-1 when defending (which we did yesterday) if it is a rigid 4-5-1 then yeah you have a point but we didn't play that.

4-4-2 is dead at this level, why our fans are obsessed with it baffles me. Unless you have two high quality midfielder's you will be overrun by teams who play the modern 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3/4-5-1/4-1-4-1.

P.S we didn't go all out attack against Liverpool.

We never once looked like we were playing 4-3-3 though. There was no link up play at all between jones and Zaha or Campbell. If anything I thought it was 4-4-1-1 with Daehli just off Jones

I was really disappointed, City looked so clueless and slow. Palace seemed to have a simple game and just got past us, couldn't understand why it was so simple.

I was really impressed when i went to WHL to watch City. MOTD didn't show much, but watching them City made it real hard for Spurs to play. Didn't see any of that vs Palace

Taylor played quite well compared to others.

Kenwyne Jones is total shite.

Thought we were playing a 4-1-3-2 with medel holding and mats no.10 behind jones and Campbell.

That's how it lined up on bbc sport. I was working so didn't see how they actually did line up..but that sounds better than the 4-5-1 we actually did play then....
