Tans exit - How

Sun Apr 06, 2014 10:09 am

How does he leave ?

We sell Caulker, Medel, Mutch and Marshall - £25 million

He takes the parachute payments, we lose a lot of the squad.

He owns the stadium and rents it to us with the proviso that if someone else wants to buy us they buy it at £XXX + inflation cost.

There are a lot of clever people of here, how does he exit ?

Basically Tan has f**k it up.

The only good selling point is the stadium expansion. That will appeal to a few. After that there is nothing appealing whatsoever.

If Tan wants a quick sale he is looking at getting a 1/3rd back if lucky. He will not get £25 million for those players. Anything going is at a cut price.

I have a feeling those players could end up staying.

Its complicated.....

I read the usual "Tan out" stuff but how.

The squad is way too big for the championship.

Indeed it is complicated.

Tan needs us back in the premier before he can go anywhere. He also needs us fans back onside.

Something said in the raw after that display shouldn't really be looked at in that much detail. I'd imagine Ole would also have been given some assurances.

A fire sale wouldn't help Tan, relegated clubs don't exactly have the strong arm when it comes to getting good value, worse if it is a true fire sale as clubs know.

He'd need a buyer, he'd need a solid Championship squad and manager in place and probably someone willing to put fans onside. And that person to exist.

The only positive about relegation (long term) is that clubs of our size do generally come back in time. Even hull who were financially destroyed following relegation.
