To me, I cannot see it at all. He has some good points but for the money we paid he is badly lacking. He should be dominating games and be an influential figure in midfield but he has not imposed himself in most of our games this season.
He runs around a lot but to little effect. If he was intended to be protection for the back four the amount of goals we have conceded this season would suggest that he has been singularly unsuccessful.
He was meant to be a pitbull but has been more like a poodle. His sideways and backwards passing is becoming a joke - there's no point looking for the ball from Turner only to give it straight back to him! Disappears from the game for long periods and once a player gets past him he is never able to recover and catch them up - he looks slow and overweight.
Would seem to have no leadership qualities and today he played like someone who knew they wouldn't be here next seaso. Ridiculous foul to give away which lead to their second goal also.
Another Malky signing who has not really provided value for a considerable sum of money.

100% yes worth the money.
Every now and then (though rarely) he gets caught out positionally or trying to play out from the back but if he didnt he'd be at a top four club because the amount of attacks he breaks up from being in the right position at the right time is unreal.
He also has a great passing range for a ball winning midfielder like him and i believe that if he was playing with better players and better passers, you would see the best of him.
He was regarded by Sevilla as one of their best players (they got rid for financial reasons) and in my opinion Malky did well to get him, even if the price is a lot for a club like ours, he's worth it (in a good team) i reckon.

No- I don't think his style of play suited us at all. Often slowed play down too much.

When have you ever seen him pass a long ball up field like huddlestone? Backwards and sideways is about it for Medel, not one killer through ball all season.

I hope you're right.
Can't see a top 6 team wanting him and can't see anyone out of the top 6 wanting to pay more than 5-6 million.

He switches play over a long distance quite a lot, although I'd say playing a long ball up field like Huddlestone is not really his style, that will have come from playing in Spain.
It's an interesting debate though, as to whether he was suited to us or not. Perhaps not, although I think that's more to do with the lack of quality around him than anything else.

If he is then he hasnt shown it.
He has looked positionally inept, unwilling to take the game by the scruff of the neck, stays in safe positions to oass the ball around in ineffective areas and he switches off many times at vital moments.
Out of the 20 starting defensive midfielders in the 20 clubs, he is the 19th worst performer. That says everything.
People have been protecting his cult hero status and pricetag while he wallows around getting fat - literally.

I'll disagree. Stats are only worth the argument they are used for. He's strolled through many games and his use of the ball is immense in my opinion. Some people slated his performance at WBA while media outlets said he was man of the match.
Positions picked up in matches can often be down the lack of quality in the slots around him. I think that's a bigger factor than anything. You can't rely on one or two players for 90 mins every week. He strolled some games, ran others and had not somgood performances in others. Would you expect anything else for a team in the bottom 5-6 regardless of fee?
Our failings revolve in not getting similar in beside him.
Any grammar or spelling mistakes should be directed to Smirnoff!

Then we will see what Premier League clubs come in for him.
He has not been very good in my opinion, in fact that is probably being kind.
