Has what Pearson achieved put our promotion into perspective

Sat Apr 05, 2014 5:00 pm

What Nigel Pearson has done and achieved puts ours into perspective. He has got Leicester up with no where near as much funds as malky, also achieving more points than malky with 6 games left. Does that show what class of manager we really had?

No because they've spent loads of money over the years leading up to this.

It was inevitable they'd get promoted eventually.

Yes - we had a fantastic manager in Malky and Nigel Pearson is also a brilliant manager

You can throw as much money as you like at a team but it doesn't guarantee anything - it takes a good manager to mastermind it

Not disagreeing with that. It's been a shambles from Malkys shit signings, to tan utter madness and Ole has completed the shambolic season with his poor tactics.

You do have a point there. No money spent and could surpass our point tally but I doubt it due to Ings and Vokes being out

Exactly. I think it just goes to show what a weak championship it was last season, and that Pearson and dyche are far better managers than malky.

first off, leicester had spent big money season after season to get to the premier league, so no it doesnt put it into perspective.

secondly the one who said "so why didnt malky get watford up" at the time watford couldnt afford their own players never mind anyone else, he was forced to use youth and cheap buys from lower league after selling off key players at the club. he got them kids, playing some good football and if i remember correctly, missed out on the players not by that much, he showed he could do a job.

under malky we had fight and yes people will throw the "2nd worse defence" blah blah blah stuff around, but under pulis, palace play the shut up shop and try and nick a goal , same as malky, and their safe right now. us we tried to play this "attack" football and we've been embaressed by clubs much worse than ours on paper.

To be fair they have had their parachute money from when they were in the Prem. They are hardly paupers.

This team does not look like a Watford team full of youngsters, why lie? Malky could not get this team promoted, he got Cardiffs promoted because of tans money. Watford also had andros Townsend on loan.

01 Loach
03 A Taylor
05 M Taylor
06 Mariappa
12 Doyley
04 Eustace
07 Cowie
11 Buckley
18 Mutch
10 Graham
20 Sordell

And? They've spent a whopping 9m in the last 4 seasons since being relegated. Add to the fact they've sold on players like Rodriguez for around 8m and haven't spent that.

Fully agree. Burnley have spent nothing yet have took the Champ by storm, luckily Trippier and Ings are back for them soon so they can spearhead and confirm the promotion. Last season's Championship was incredibly weak and gave us false hope

Just look at our last ten games last season, I think we won like 1 game if that, we have been poor ever since.

If we get promoted next season then I think we'll be ready, next season it will have a league of highly contested teams. This Championship has been class and has class teams. You look at Palace who got promoted despite losing a shit load of games under Holloway. Us and Palace made the best of a bad Championship, Hull the same

We will not come back up next season IMO. Only 5 teams have come straight back up after being relegated from the prem, according to football focus this morning.

That's poppycock they wasted millions upon millions assembly and reassembling a team with shit managers and got nowhere

Pearson has had time to build himself and not spent much and has worked wonders there

Credit to Pearson and his team there

Pearson has spent a fortune over previous seasons to get Leicester where they are now.

Not flipping managers every 10 mins is the moral of this story.
