Mark Lawrenson Predictions
It was not just Crystal Palace's win over Chelsea last week that was impressive, it was the manner in which they got it. Their victory was thoroughly deserved.
Palace will be full of confidence but Cardiff will be coming into the weekend on a high note too. Given the way they snatched a draw against West Brom last time out, it will feel like they won that game.
Cardiff badly need three points but, to get them, they need to find a way of breaking down a Palace side that can suffocate teams and stop them from playing.
I am thinking this will end up in a draw, which will suit the Eagles down to the ground. A point is no good for Cardiff.

What an unbelievable football result for Crystal Palace last week. I just don’t know where that win over Chelsea came from. I’ve watched a fair bit of them this season and I would expect them to go to Cardiff and defend, soak up the pressure and play on the counter-attack. It will be up to Cardiff to break them down, but they showed great spirit to not give up against West Brom last week and I’m just going to lean towards them. Cardiff know they have to win because it’s a team near them in the league and they can drag them into it – but if Palace win you’d probably have to say they’re safe.

"Must not lose for us, must win for them. It'll be like being 1 goal up from the first leg in a two legged affair, there is only so much sitting back and defending you can do before it bites you in the arse. Saying that i'll go for a draw"

"I think some people are forgetting that Cardiff are a good side especially at home with the fans screaming every decision etc. I fear that they will shade it they are treating it like a cup final must win game. Sadly 2 -0 Cardiff. I hope I am wrong and I believe a draw is a fantastic result. COYP"

"We will be going out for a point, as long as that strategy does not go out of the window early, then Palace will get the opportunity to take all 3pts. Just feel neither team will have what it takes to get the win. Goalless draw."

"Cardiff struggle to break down defensive sides and we are a counter attacking side, so I can really see this going our way. Cardiff are similar to Chelsea need to have gaps to exploit to score goals. Were so solid defensively I cant see them scoring. Whether or not we can I don't know but I think 2 0 palace and Ledley and Puncheon the scorers"

"Think we're asking for trouble with the over-confidence here. Cardiff will be a very, VERY hard game. Their key players have pace that will get beyond our defence. Bellamy, Campbell, Zaha, Mutch are all players who can unlock our defence. It will be one-way traffic for most of the game. We MUST score first in this game to avoid defeat, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if we kept a clean sheet."

Why the negativity? Cardiff leak so many goals that even we will create 3 or 4 decent chances. If they fall to Muzzah then that's it. Meanwhile I'm confident that our defence can limit them; they've only scored lots of goals against sides that concede/ attack them. And do we really believe Wilf will put in any kind of performance for them? Come on, now"

I was just wondering if you could fill me in with the aforementioned riots? It seems that along with changing your badge, colours and manager all for reasons that cannot be justified, you have threatened to take action but have just sat back and taken it?"

"That's why anyone with half a clue about CCFC probably won't have much sympathy over the recent colour changes etc. The vast majority of the protests have come after he's poured money into the club and helped get you promotion, now there's a serious threat of relegation people are starting to pipe up.
It'll be a mightily tough game, we're used to being on the back foot and letting the opposition have the ball but when it's a side we beat relatively comfortably at home and are below us in the table, I wonder if we'll play with more intent.
I'm going for a dull 0-0 though, which would suit us nicely if not spectacularly."
