I'd love to see palace, Fulham and jacks go down. Personally I think it'll be Fulham, WBA and either us or Sunderland

Well WBA are at Norwich on Sat so either one, or both of them will be adding to their points tally :thumbright:

A draw would suit us, but if we lose to Palace, then for me thats it, were relegated.

If I win at 25/1, I could afford a beer in a plastic glass and a microblitzed pie at half time. Lol.

I think a Norwich win would suit you better as I don't see you catching them, especially as they have Fulham next week. But yes, if you lose to Palace then it'll be just about curtains. But you never know, it's a funny old game as Greavsie used to say.

Annis I think it's all about momentum.

Both us and Palace will have a spring in their step after the weekend.

Norwich vs WBA is huge but I'm just going for a home win which should be enough for Norwich.

Sunderland are really struggling as are Fulham but bizarrely I really like Fulham's run-in. If they can somehow string a run together I still think they and us will get out of it. Massive call I know but it's there for both teams if they truly believe.

If I was betting now this minute I'd go for Fulham, WBA & Sunderland, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Fulham pull off the great escape act and either us or Palace replace them.

I have to believe we can do it though. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :ole:

I think I agree, WBA are probably more catchable, I think that late goal they conceded will send them down, it was fate !!!

We will stay up by the skin of our teeth !!! Provided we beat Palace, a definite must win game

Palace game is interesting. They were the most organised side I have seen in over thirty yearsof wwatching football. Three lines and very disciplined first half then second half went two up front to close down our space and try to cause us a few problems which they did very well. The lad on the wing that I can't spell was at times unplayable. Could be a very frustrating afternoon for you.

I totally agree with that get a couple of wins behind u and its all about momentum, to me our last chance to start that momentum is Palace home.

Got a feeling it will be all over for us this Saturday.

It is going to be a frustrating 90 minutes and the pressure of trying to break this Palace side down will take its toll. Got that gut feeling Palace will hit us with two late goals.

Here's a question:

Does anyone think playing Zaha against his 'home' club is a bad idea, given that he is likely to be shown the door at ManUre in the summer and Palarse are a possible destination (assuming they are still in the Premier League)?? :?:

Personally, I like that Zaha is at our club and I think he now has a massive point to prove (to ManUre) but someone in work asked the question and I have to admit that it made me think a little :!:

I think that (Norwich taking all 6 points from those games against WBA and Fulham) would best help to us

Re: Interesting, Do you agree with them?

Definitely want Norwich and WBA to draw and Fulham to beat Norwich.

Fulham are already in the bottom three, we need to drag other teams into the mix and if Norwich can get to no more than 34 points with their horrendous last 4 games, which is likely to make their GD worse than ours, then that could be our target.

Palace are no mugs under Pulis.

They have a terrible away record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 11 losses, only scoring 6 times.

However, their formation, shape and team defence will be VERY, very hard for us to break down.

We know the style that they will adopt. Team defence first and counter us.

It will likely be a frustrating game for the players and fans and we ALL have to be patient.

Palace will be fairly happy with 0-0 and ecstatic with 0-1. They won't be here to entertain, just to get the job done.

City players coming out with it's a 'must win' game are playing into Palace's hands if they have that attitude on the pitch.

They have to play with a game plan that gives us the best opportunity to win, but not get caught out and lose 0-1.

In March, they have played 5 (3 away), scoring 2 and conceding 3 (including the very late goal against Newcastle).

When they win or draw away from home, they usually score in the last 10 minutes as the home team tries to increase the pressure on the Palace goal, the home team open up at the back.

We have to play with control in midfield and defence and intelligence and patience up front.

Im going for Fulham, Sunderland and palace or Fulham, Sunderland and us. Saturday will decide, Saturday is our cup final...

Re: Interesting, Do you agree with them?

Thu Apr 03, 2014 1:54 pm

Bottom four us, Fulham, WBA, Sunderland.
I don't think Sunderland will pick up many more points and we need wins against Palace & Stoke with draws against Sunderland, Newcastle and Chelsea which are all possible. The other teams in the fight play against each other and we do have to rely on the Jacks taking points off Sunderland on the last day of the season BUT relegation is not certain for any team at this stage.

Re: Interesting, Do you agree with them?

Thu Apr 03, 2014 2:18 pm

If you lot beat palace and Norwich beat WBA then it's game on and as much as I don't want to say it, you lot will probably stay up. Anything less than a win and it's game over. If you and WBA win then it could get very, very interesting.

Palace are a well drilled, difficult to beat side. Score early and the game will open up which can only suit you. Fail to do that and pulis counter attacking team could punish you.

Totally agree what you say about the game against Palace.

If Norwich draw with WBA, then it potentially could drag Norwich into the mix, with them playing away to Fulham.

Norwich have a terrible away record and a horrendous last 4 games. Their points tally could end with the Fulham game and GD plummet to below ours which be worth an extra point for us.

I don't think so, I think we'll win 3 - 0 as Palace are not good on the road and only have 6 goals all season away, plus we have scored 3 in 3 of our last 4 including against Liverpool.

19. Sunderland

Can Cardiff City stay in Premier League ask Rob Phillips -

ROB'S PREDICTIONS

CRYSTAL PALACE (H) - 5, APRIL

If defeat was ''non-negotiable'' away to West Bromwich Albion - then this is simply a must-win.
Palace, managed by Welshman and boyhood Cardiff City fan Tony Pulis, are two places and five points ahead of Cardiff, thanks in no small part to a stunning win over Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Yet, on the road Palace have not been such a force. Indeed they are the lowest top flight scorers away from home, having found the net just six times on their travels.
It will be nervous, it could be tight. But Cardiff ought to avenge their horrendous defeat in South London in December.
Rob's prediction: Cardiff win

SOUTHAMPTON (A) - 12, APRIL

In terms of relegation or the quest for a European spot, Southampton have nothing to play for. However they possess a clutch of players who have every reason to feel motivated for the rest of the campaign, because they could secure places in the England World Cup squad in Brazil.
Under their Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino, Southampton have become an impressive unit. Their 3-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium on Boxing Day proved terminal for Malky Mackay's employment with the Bluebirds.
Can Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fare better? History is against him. Cardiff have not won on this part of the South Coast in the last 13 visits . This game would be an ideal one in which to end that fruitless run - but it would be a shock.
Rob's prediction: Cardiff loss

STOKE CITY (H) - 19, APRIL

A few weeks ago this looked like being a fixture between two relegation threatened sides. Now only Cardiff are in danger.
Welshman Mark Hughes, the Stoke boss, will always be fondly regarded in the country of birth after magnificent services as a player and his inspirational leadership as national team boss. But he is quietly transforming Stoke's style and rebuilding his reputation which was tarnished by his bruising experience at Queens Park Rangers.
Ironically, Peter Odemwingie - who left Cardiff for Stoke in January with Kenwyne Jones going the other way - has helped the Potters' stylish rise to safety. All of which makes Cardiff's penultimate home game a much tougher prospect than it seemed a few weeks ago.
Rob's prediction: draw

SUNDERLAND (A) - 27 APRIL

This could be a critical encounter. Sunderland are in trouble and one of those clubs you would think Cardiff have to finish above if they are to somehow survive.
Cardiff's Premier League away form has not been encouraging. They will be desperate to get something, amid memories of throwing away a two goal advantage in the dying minutes of the home game in December when David Kerslake was caretaker boss following the departure of Mackay.
They can afford no such slips here. If Cardiff are to stay up, you surely have to win this one.
Rob's prediction: Cardiff win

NEWCASTLE UNITED (A) - 3, MAY

The Toon are another outfit who are neither troubled by relegation worries nor in competition for a European place.
But they will have their manager Alan Pardew back on the touchline following his ban for this game.
St James' Park is where it all began for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Cardiff manager with an eye catching victory in the FA Cup in his first game at the helm.
A repeat performance would be very welcome.
Rob's prediction: draw

CHELSEA (H) - 11, MAY

Will this game decide anything?
Cardiff want the fight against relegation to go to the last day - Chelsea hope to be going for the Premier League title.
The chances of either scenario being in place looks less likely after recent days.
But Jose Mourinho at the Cardiff City Stadium should be a treat worth waiting for, whatever the outcome.
Cardiff will hope it won't be their Premier League last hurrah . . .
Rob's prediction: Cardiff loss
END OF SEASON TOTAL: 34 points

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26872806

Re: Interesting, Do you agree with them?

Fri Apr 04, 2014 11:45 am

I think Rob's predictions are a bit optimistic. I can only see us gaining another two to four points. I don't think we have enough quality to stay in this league, and unfortunately, I can't see any way that we will beat Palace tomorrow. I can see us losing 3-2.

Canaries got Albion home and Fulham away next 2 games..6 points by my reckoning, it'll take them to 38 points and safety imo.
