Ben Turner, Andrew Taylor and Arron Gunnarson

Sat Mar 29, 2014 8:05 pm

All 3 championship players and brought into the team for what reason?
Juan Cala is much better than turner and doesn't hoof the ball up the pitch to no one.
Declan John is a lot more quicker and more of an attacking threat than Taylor.
And Gunnarson, well he's just an average championship player who just stands still and doesn't bring anything to the game.
Anyone agree ole picked the selection wrong today as I feel it was a wasted opurtunity to get all 3 points?
Stil believe we can stay up though with the right team!!! BlueArmmmaayyy :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Everything said here is correct, Ole has tinkered again with the team once to often, soon as team was announced the writing was on the wall. We have to stop making it hard for ourselves but sorry Ole is making it an impossible task for us to remain......so really it's Ole who's making it hard for us....

Useless Manc

I think Cala was injured, Declan needed replacing and Taylor is best suited there IMO. Gunnarson I agree was a piss poor decision.

Want me to help you muppet out a bit? Cala injured. Turner not. Obviously not a good game again, but maybe jones could play? John and Kim have struggled last two games, everybody shouting for a change, got it, now moan. Medel and marshall foult at first goal. 7 men in defense and guess who missed marking on second goal? Taylor surprised me and played well, arron did his job with 66% tackle rate and 80% pass rate.Put on the heat map for you at bottom to show his movement. Yes, so we blame ole for tactics. Ok, what is wrong with 5-3-1-1 against 4-3-3? Should be a balanced squad shouldnt it? Only tinker mates was on two down on AGAIN shit mistakes, and guess what! Tinker worked out fine. To blame this on tactics and tinkering, we should beat wba easy is beyond stupidity. Take the good from a relegation scrap! Warrior attitude and spirit enough to do this :ayatollah:

5 at the back never works against a 4-3-3.

Not even with two wingback and two def midfield? The team was balanced, and let two shit goals in..

No. It rarely works seen as the wingers have all the space they want. If they WB want to stay back then it limits any attacking threat and width. Which makes it hard to play against seen as the midfield is matched and the strikers are matched too.

We changed to a 4-1-4-1/4-3-3 and we played much better.

Playing a wb hardly takes away your marking duties does it. Leave 3 against one on striker and 3 against 3 in midfield. They where balanced i tell you, besides running around like headless chickens for the first 15 minutes :thumbright:

What did Turner do wrong? Probably slightly at fault for their 3rd but it took a lucky deflection. Cala got dropped as his defending last week was poor.

Agree on the other two. Though I will say Taylor helped create our 1st goal

Taylor was pretty good today. Just loads of fans wanting to shout abuse at the players instead of getting behind them. Turner didn't do a lot wrong either

Of course it doesn't mean neglect your defensive duties but our full backs are awful anyway so it wouldn't make much of a difference if they marked or stood off or just forgot about defending.

Agree all the danger came from down the right hand side. The only thing I find with Taylor he's not positive enough going forward would rather take the easy option and play it back to Turner

Taylor played ok, set up the first. Turner was the same, played ok set up the third. Gunner shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11.
