' Malky Mackay not interested in Forest job '

Fri Mar 28, 2014 5:21 pm

Friday 28th March 2014.

Malky Mackay has ruled himself out of the running for the managerial vacancy at Nottingham Forest.

Earlier this week the former Cardiff City boss was named on a three-man shortlist by Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi, alongside Steve Clarke and Gianfranco Zola.

But Sky Sports sources understand the ex-Celtic, Norwich and West Ham defender, who was controversially sacked by Cardiff at the end of December, is not interested in the position.

Al Hasawi, who is also chairman at the City Ground, has already been turned down by former Leeds boss Neil Warnock and club legend Stuart Pearce after talks were held over a replacement for the sacked Billy Davies.

Gary Brazil is in caretaker charge of Forest, who are currently seventh in the Sky Bet Championship, two points outside the play-off places.

Yes, under Malky it must have been a miracle we won the Championship by 8 points considering we was "lucky to see a shot on target all match"

A shed load of money had something to do with that. Strange the next 'great manager' now hasn't got any of the Premier league jobs he was meant to be a cert for and now has 'ruled himself out' of the forest job. Hmmmmm.

I'm surprised he hasn't gone for this. A big club with real potential albeit with volatile owners but he's used to that!

He's proved he can take teams up with financial backing so Forest fans should be disappointed.

Better to 'rule yourself out' than not be successful in getting the job. We've seen Malky use the media before so he's got form.

Money does not buy promotion. Leicester have spent much more than us year after year and only now look like they're getting it right. In the grand scheme of things, Malky didn't spend that much money. Regardless of what he spent or how it was done - he achieved the main aim.

The main reason you didn't renew? We won the league by a mile and for the first time in our history were playing in the PL! Not renewing because of the rebrand is completely understandable, not renewing as we weren't scoring enough goals is just weird.

It has been said on here many times that Malky is not going to go for any job until the dispute with Cardiff city has been resolved, you have chosen to ignore that. There are so many people on here who never have anything positive to say about anything to do with Cardiff City, why bother? At least Malky was always 100% positive and has never said anything detrimental about the club, he deserves better than to be constantly sniped at. Good or bad he took us up to the Prem, di he have money, yes, did he use it to do the job, yes, did he use it wisely... hmmmm, well tbh we only won the league by 8 clear points so maybe that isn't good enough...but wait a minute, yes it is, actually winning by one point would be good enough. Good luck to him, he deserves his pay off. Cornelius aside he did ok by us in my book.

That was speculation for the WBA and Spurs job - he never went for them

He has come out previously and said he wants a break from management - I was surprised to hear that he was linked with Forest

Don't spin it to suit your hateful agenda, everyone in football except tan and a few idiot Cardiff fans rate Malky highly ;)

They rated Boothroyd and Peter Taylor too, Now where are they? One being a former England manager! I just honestly think Malky will go down the same route, that's my opinion

No. My point is I'm against the bias the other way where all people do is speak out against him, he's even bring criticised for the stadium expansion!

If I feel there is something wrong I will say.

Boothroyd is managing England Under 20s & Peter Taylor is managing Gillingham - not exactly fallen off the radar  Pretty decent jobs

I think Malky will be a manager of a top club in a few years time :ayatollah:

Surely, if it was a dictatorship, you wouldn't be here... Natman "blue". :?

Are you still here, posting your usual pro-red drivel? YES.

Therefore it is not a dictatorship.

If you check the definition of a dictatorship, you'll see that Tan's actions have made it one.
