The Brazilian full-back has left City fans in no doubt about his commitment to the cause.

Cardiff City's Samba star Fabio has revealed his burning desire to keep Cardiff City in the Premier League but admits the Bluebirds "must win" at the Hawthorns for that to happen.

The 23-year-old has found his feet in recent weeks after some early struggles following his January move from Manchester United.

He says he has nothing to prove to anyone other than himself but admits he is learning in every game.

And the youngster is hoping his experience dealing with pressure at the sharp end with Manchester United will help him during the trials and tribulations of the Bluebirds' relegation battle.

Fabio said: "I played for Manchester United and I know how to put pressure to one side.

"Fighting at the top and at bottom the pressure is quite similar. Both carry huge pressure. You must control your mind and focus on what needs to be done.

"I came to Cardiff week in week out, I want to play football. I want to play every game.

"I don’t have to prove anything to anybody, I just prove to myself I can compete at this level.

"I want to stay in the Premier League. That means so much to me."

The Brazilian, who spent time on loan with QPR in their relegation season last year, says he is in no doubt the Bluebirds have the quality to get out of trouble.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men lie in 19th with 25 points from 31 games and come up against a West Brom side in 16th with 28 points from 30 games.

Fabio said the players were not perturbed by the situation they found themselves in and said by sticking together, and with a bit of luck, they could preserve their Premier League status.

"West Brom away is a match we must win to close the gap. That’s the situation. It’s a massive, massive game," he said.

"The pressure will be there, but we have big players here to cope with that. We will be fine.

"There is enough quality here for us to stay up. 100 per cent. I see it every day in training, We need a little luck because of the situation we are in, but we will work to earn our luck.

"This situation is different to Manchester United, but I will learn a lot from this. It’s good for me and my career, it will help me become a better player.

"I worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer four years ago at Old Trafford and he tells me to be myself. I had not played many games and in the early games my conditioning wasn’t good, but now I am feeling a lot better.

"We must stick together and, against West Brom, we must win. That would gve us the momentum to achieve what we want - and that is to stay in the Premier League.

"I learn from every match. Last minute goal at Everton was so frustrating and then we conceded six against Liverpool. That was tough.

"It’s hard to be in this situation, but we have great characters here.

"West Brom are fighting as well. They know we are close to them."

I agree. Great bit of business bringing him here. This guy hasn't played consistently for a while but he is beginning to show some of his class. Let's hope he continues to quieten those who have been quick to harshly criticise him for some of his early mistakes.

Is UK "journalism" based heavily on repetition, or are each and every article pasted here the victim of bad formatting and pruning? Every single "article" seems to have four sentences repeated like three times each.
