The important thing is not to lose against them. To expect us to win the next three games on the trot when we haven't won two in a row all season is Roy of the rovers stuff but i hope I'm wrong.

I suggest the Sunderland game because it is definitely winnable. Watching them take on Liverpool tonight I saw little to threaten us apart from the Korean Jack who seems to make an impact but they are too dull to play him from the beginning!![]()
If there is a slight distraction of this game, then maybe our team will relax and just get on with the job of playing.
The WBA game is important of course, but there is a danger that if we don't win, the spirit may take a dive.

The reason those three games should be targeted is that if we win we gain points guarenteed on teams of a similar ability in a similar position to us in the table
If we targeted Newcastle, Southampton & Chelsea then we are unlikely to win and any points gained may be in vain as the teams around us can win aswell
If we treat every game the same at this stage in the season then its very much a negative and would be bad tactics IMO
Obviously no one is saying dont turn up for certain teams - but 110% effort is needed from the targeted games

Im saying that we should be targeting those three games - I just read through my post again and it seems fairly clear
target next match and dont overthink this to much. Should win game, but not a must win game imo and any other mathematecly angle

Right - i shall try again
The reason those three games should be targeted is that if we win we gain points guarenteed on teams of a similar ability in a similar position to us in the table
Translation: If we beat the teams around us then its basically 6 pointers and our league position will definatly increase
If we targeted Newcastle, Southampton & Chelsea then we are unlikely to win and any points gained may be in vain as the teams around us can win aswell
Translation: If we get a few points from teams higher up the table we are gamblin on the teams around us losing aswell
If we treat every game the same at this stage in the season then its very much a negative and would be bad tactics IMO
Translation: We cant treat every game the same, we need to focus on the games against the lower league teams and it would be a bad idea to do otherwise
Obviously no one is saying dont turn up for certain teams - but 110% effort is needed from the targeted games
Translation: I am not saying dont bother against teams higher up in the league - I am saying that the majority of our focus and effort should be on the targeted games
Does this make more sense?
your logic flaws just looking at reamainig fixtures for bottom teams.

Unlikley wins against Chelsea, Newcastle, Southampton - we are drawing close to the end of the season and every point is vital

Isn't it obvious?![]()
We DO need to win these up coming games, because otherwise we are going to need points from a far less likely fixture, such as Southampton away/Chelsea home as examples.

we aren't geniuses, although we do know the definition of "unlikely"if we lose to WBA, then it's looking very grim indeed...

I am a realist and i look at things from a non bias view - I predicted EVERY game right exept Hull where i predicted a draw and we lost 4-0
Now because i have a clue about football im going to say that the predictions up top are fairly accurate and if we finish on 30 points (i predicted 31 - but we lost to hull) then we are going down
We NEED to beat WBA and Crystal Palace otherwise we are down and that is reality

I am right - you are completely wrong and your basing everything on best case scenario![]()

Thats why its called a relegation battle mate, nothing is for certainbut i really think city can beat anyone of the remaining teams, but thats my crystal bowl
