Sunderland's games in hand

A lot of people have been saying "well Sunderland have three games in hand", as if it's a given that they'll get the points, when what people haven't said, is those games are:-

Liverpool (A)
Man City (A)
West Brom (H)

I doubt very much they'll get more than three points, and they may not even get that many. They're not in a 'false position' as many have been saying.
