CORNELIUS BACK IN FORM - Should he have had more time?

Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:43 pm

£8m flop Andreas Cornelius has hit the kind of form for Copenhagen that we never saw at Cardiff. Should he have been given more time? Amazing goal embedded in story: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/03/24/cardiff-flop-returns-to-imperious-form-after-january-sale/

He did look useless but Should definitely have been given more time maybe gone on loan. The poor lad was injured for 3 months and had no time on the pitch to gain match fitness/confidence. I just think tan wanted to make malky look a fool. Time will tell I suppose lets see where his career ends up.

He scored hattrick on his debut. So he's scored more than one goal.

In a league that's no better than our league 1 here. Best thing was to let him go,he was crap.

awww i see, i didn't know that. i think he will be a decent player. im not saying for one moment a prem player, but still decent.
i think malky let him down by sending stupid money on him, we expected too much.
but i wish him luck :ayatollah:

If we had paid eight hundred thousand then maybe but not eight million

Not fit when we signed him and then he got injured.
I said at the time we should not have sold him back at a big loss, we could have loaned him out and had him back when ready.
I hope and think he ll do well in the future. Cornflake had little chance to prove himself no service, not match fit, no confidence, and was named as part of the VT v MM dispute.
Now we have plenty of service ...... Is Kenwynne Jones a better bet than Cornflake? Not imo.

So you think we would of held onto him next season in the championship waiting for him to come good? At 45 k a week

People like you make me sick, you do not care about the clubs finances, all you care about is seeing Liverpool and man utd rock up your real teams.

You dont pay 8 mill, give him one of the best wage packages in the team and wait "a few years" for him to come good. Given the costs you expect results, a high earning player in the reserves team thats just bad business. The club might have had more patience if he wasn't so expensive.

He was available for a quarter of what we paid 6 weeks before we signed him jinks and that is why tan is making waves about it

Wow that's quite a statement! Sorry for making you sick

So we pay 8 million for him - then sell him back to his original club in a deal which what i am led to believe is a 10 million loss.. that's awesome for the clubs finances

The sensible thing to have done would have been to loan him out or perhaps give him some real playing time? He obviously has the ability it was just difficult for him to settle in and he came back from injury early in the season

And as for me caring about Liverpool and Man Utd you can f**k off

Well Malky did the negotiating and the club authorized the sale

I believe he was always touted as a player with great quality and one for the future...

And as we can see he has fantastic quality - and 105 mins of football for Cardiff gives nobody licence to say he is not good enough for the prem

Who would have wanted to take on his 45k a week wages? He is not a good enough for premiership and too expensive for championships sides.

We could pay a portion of the wages and any championship side would have jumped at the chance

He would have been giving more time but you can bet your bottom dollar tan pushed his sale to go in his favour with the malky row. But to be fair the kid looked like a headless chicken for 8 mill you expect someone to at least look like they fit the bill!

Re: CORNELIUS BACK IN FORM - Should he have had more time?

Wed Mar 26, 2014 6:33 am

If he wasn't on 45k a week then he should have had a loan spell in the Championship to get used to the English game then hopefully he could make some sort of impact wherever we play next season. Sadly we have taken a huge loss on the transfer fee but will probably be better with him off the wage bill.

But spending 8m on him was nothing short of a joke. I'd be interesting in hearing Malky's reasoning for spending so much on such a raw, unproven player

It's not that he didn't score in the prem, he even looked out of place in development games.

So he goes from free scoring in Denmark to not scoring here in the prem or devp games yet first ge back at a shit level scores 3...confidence? No I'd say ability. Healy scores for fun so did velikonja yet corny looked out of place in devp games.

I was one of the few that blindly stuck by him and kept hoping he would come good but on reflection I think we bought him 2 years early for 4x too much (could even say 10x) and he was put on WAY to much money (not his fault I know) if he was on 10k I would of agreed to leave him in the reserves but he was bought for 8 f*cking million he should of been our main man.

Over Priced Over Paid he had to go 43k a week to wait a few years for him to develop lol no chance. The right decision was made to let him go. We need players in who can hit the ground running in the premier league not trial players who have never played premier league or even championship football your asking for trouble, the premier league is a unforgiving league. :bluescarf:
