Would you swap back with Stoke?

Tue Mar 25, 2014 9:36 am

Jones for Odemwingie? Who would you prefer in the squad now? Odemwingie has certainly been better since he moved but was he the player we needed?

Either way, Jones hasn't impressed me in the slightest, simply through lack of effort.

Opinions welcome :ayatollah:

I was actually a fan of Odemwingie and was very pleased when we signed him. However, hes very similar to Campbell and would he get into the side infront of Fraizer? No chance.

Kenwyne, although not the most energetic, offers us something different. Id rather have him on the pitch to try and change things than swap like for like when something isn't working.

Odemwingie was a strange one, not used in the correct way by Malky, obviously a confidence player and being played out of position and in and out of the team it never really worked for him here.

That said we didnt see a quarter of the effort he has been putting in for Stoke so it works both ways.

I dont like Kenwynne either but he does offer something different, something we didnt have. We already have an Odemwingie type player in Campbell.

Whilst Odemwingie may have more ability than Campbell I think I would prefer Campbell in the position we are in now as he leaves everything out on the field.

Jones puts in a lot more effort than Odemwingie did with us. Jones has also been more effective and created a number of chances/goals for team mates as well as occupying the centre backs.

If you'd asked me before this season I would have taken Odemwingie over Jones every time but now I've seen both play for us I certainly think we got the best end of the swap !!

there is/was little effort from either of them, i think they come out about even really.

However, its 1 goal 1 assist from Jones this season, has played half the matches Odemwingie did as well.

I think Jones is improving when it comes to work-rate, and from his behaviour on the pitch it´s like it shines through that someone has been on his back (Ole, that would be). A little second he just stands there, then suddenly he wakes up and starts chasing the ball, as if he´s thinking, "oh yes, I was supposed to run, wasn´t I" :)

I prefer Jones for the variety he offers. i am shocked at the other guys sudden epiphany though. It makes me wonder if anything happened between him and a member of staff/player.
