Playing 5 defenders at the back Saturday seemed to work, we tried it at spurs and we give it a go, we gave it a right good go on Saturday against arguably the best pairing of strikers in Europe at present time.
I for one like the formation, i think it suits us, Fabio is more of an attacker same as Declan. i would keep to the same 11 if all fit to start against WBA. if i was to change anyone i would say Cala for Turner, only because of the physical side of Turner
just wondering what everyone else opinions are on this

Swap Kim for Zaha.
Keep the rest of the team the same.

I would play 4-4-1-1 against West Brom, my team being:
Marshall
Fabio
Cala
Caulker
KTC
Daehli (deserves to start ahead of Kim after Saturday)
Medel
Mutch
Noone (Zaha if Noone still isn't fit)
Bellamy
Campbell
John had a tough time Saturday so I would give him a rest. I think West Brom will be there for the taking if we attack them. They only have Anichebe and a struggling Vydra as their main strikers and they aren't dangerous enough for us to have to sit back and contain imo. If we are under the cosh, Daehli can always tuck into the middle with Bellamy going out to the left with this line up anyway.

Marshall
Fabio
Caulker
Turner
Cala
John
Medel
Mutch
Whittingham/Daehli
Bellamy
Campbell
Don't get me wrong Theo has surprised me and has done a decent job at Centre Half but Turner has to replace him for me, we need our best defensive central defenders and Big Ben falls into that category. I think Kim needs to be taken out, I rate him highly but he wasn't effective enough against Liverpool. Mats looks like he is ready to take his chance and he could provide that little bit of spark and creativity that is needed in midfield, failing that I'd love to see Whitts back out there, if he is told to pass the ball into forward positions and get us on the front foot then I still think Whitts is our best player to do that.

Turner is currently injured I believe but I don't know how long he is out for. I agree we are missing Turner, I don't think we would have conceded 6 goals with him in the team. Cala impressed me at right back at Spurs, he's a good footballer but seems to get bullied at centre back, so perhaps playing Cala at full back where he doesn't need to be so physical could be an option.

I'm sure he was back on the bench against the scousers mate. I agree with you with Cala I've been impressed with him so far but I think he needs to be a little more 'street wise', the premier league is more physical than La Liga hopefully he gets to grip with it quickly.

Ktc have been good last two games. And i think jones looked composed against liverpool. Depending on the system i think we should be looking at using a target man. Zahaa looking better, and if daehli dosent play ill get pissed
Kim need a brake, so witts or eikrem for him. Caulker need to shape up. One tackle won is embarrasing

I'd like to see Whitts in for Kim and Turner in for KTC. Kim is just too weak, and in such a big game we can't have someone who can't hold the ball up. Turner's physical presence will also help us.

100 % agree with this, Whitts looked hungry at Everton and would be ideal in this new set up, and if Turner is fit I'd be tempted. Think if he had played on Sat we wouldn't have conceded a few of those goals.
