' Now its down to serious business forget the good football its wins/draws from now on '
Ole has to tighten up the defence and our players have to give 100% and 90 odd minutes of concentration in everyone of the following games.
No point us fans saying at 5pm every Saturday, we played well today etc etc yet lost again.
Forget trying to please anyone with good football now, it does not matter if its boring as what will only count from now on is the final results after every game.
Its totally in our own hands and all these teams we are capable of winning.
Would I like to see Ole stay on no matter what division we are in next season, yes I would and I would like him to have the whole of next season, he deserves that, but if we are relegated he has to take some of the blame as since January 3rd its always been in our hands to stay up.
We can be the 12th man, yesterday v Liverpool and Everton away our fans showed how passionate thy still can be, lets take that passion and belief to WBA and to the end of the season.
My opinion
We need to beat WBA,Crystal Palace, draw at Southampton, beat Stoke City and get at least a draw at Sunderland.
Lets be honest we cant afford to have to go to Newcastle and then play Chelsea at home needing a win.

From our remaining games i can see two wins & one draw,,,,maybe two,,,giving us a total of 32/33 points.
I don't thing that will be enough.
Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:26 am
Exactly right. We've seen some spirit and belief in the side over the last few games (after a poor couple of months), and the team need to take that forward into these last few games.
Part of our problem has been that we've done fairly poorly against the bottom half teams so far - Sunderland, Palace, Villa, West Ham etc.
Now, we need to beat those teams if we stand any chance of staying up. Defensive lapses need to be addressed and we simply have to take the game to the opposition now (as we have done the last few games).
I think we can do it, but as you say - it's no good going to Newcastle and playing Chelsea needing points at the 11th hour.

It helps when we dont get a tw*t as a ref
Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:27 am
We will beat west brom and palace , draw with stoke then have a cup final against sunderland to decide who stays up
Sun Mar 23, 2014 9:08 am
I've got this feeling that we will need a point against Chelsea to stay up and they will need a point to win the league in the last game .
Sun Mar 23, 2014 9:38 am
After the last 4 games there is hope. After yesterday there may well be a lot more belief.
I hope the team have the character to assure the points in the remaining key games. Ruud Gullit always talked about 'moments' in matches. Let's hope the players show their character in those moments - whether in defence, attack or in game-changing play!

I've had that horrible thought for weeks, we need to be safe by then, we will have no chance against Chelsea, even if they have already won the title........

Let's be honest it's a fantastic run of fixtures and every game is winnable, with maybe Southampton the hardest, but they will have nothing to play for and Stoke should be the same and reasonably safe.
I think we will beat WBA and Palace and Sunderland, the other games are definitely winnable but could go either way?
I am looking forward to every game, but West Brom is one of the most important games in recent history, win we will stay up, lose and we will be relegated I think !!!
Looking forward to an early trip up a few pints and a curry and a win

Think we are gonna have to rely on a piece of individual brilliance rather than the tactics of OGS to get us out of this mess
Sun Mar 23, 2014 10:45 am
Same old Cardiff... Towards the end of every season for years we were stressing about if we would make it to the playoffs, then stressing would we win the playoffs now we are stressing if we will go down!! Every season Cardiff keep our blood pressure raised but hey thats why we love them!!

Getting behind your new manager is admirable but, let's face it, he hasn't been achieving results and was given a transfer window to improve the squad. It'll be a relegation dogfight like no other this season but, if you do get relegated, then he doesn't strike me as being the kind of character to bring you back up again. He's an arrogant man (always has been) and it's evident he worked under Alex Ferguson. That parting shot about Liverpool yesterday sums him up. I hate them like many but they're title contenders.
Finding a manager willing to work under the incumbent owner is going to be difficult. It's a sad situation at Cardiff and I sincerely hope you can work through it and come out the other side in good shape. You've been through a lot as a club and it must be difficult.

Beat WBA saturday and i think we can go on and survive ,but defeat will deflate the players beyond repair .Thats not to say I'm giving up .

Yep, certainly more interesting than the nonsense you posted.
Why on earth should OGS care about who is going to win the title? His concern is staying up & is concentrating on that. I've seen a marked improvement over the side recently over OGS & think we can stay up, just.

All managers answer questions about other clubs. I hate Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers, Suarez and others like many but I'm still able to view them as title contenders.
Have you seen the video:
https://vine.co/v/MMrMdK2TtJJ His arrogance is astounding.
Did you see a marked improvement when you conceded 6 at home yesterday? Or 4 at home to Hull? I come here in peace as I have Cardiff fans in my family - but OGS isn't the man for the job. He's too naïve to think his players can play football against good sides.

Where have I tried to imply that? I'm just offering an alternative perspective from someone without any emotional attachment to your club.
I personally don't believe OGS is the manager to keep you up and take you forwards next season and this is based on results, signings and his attitude. A more experienced boss like Pulis, Allardyce or Bruce wouldn't work for Vincent Tan.

on this thread. No emotional attachment? Your attempts to ridicule him and the way you link him to SAF stinks of bitterness about the red side of Manchester.

good for you. Having actually watched and seen how the team is evolving and moving forward, I say otherwise. The timing was wrong, but with a full pre season behind him, and time to work this team into the style he wants, OGS will shine.

Why would I be bitter? We're better than them now and I'm looking forwards to Tuesday evening. Their slow and steady decline is brilliant.
Football is a results game and OGS has received some spankings since he took over. It's interesting that the current bottom 5 in the Premier League have all made a change of manager this season whilst Norwich and West Ham have not. Swansea might now get sucked back in to it too! It's going to take too long for the new tactics and way of playing to make a significant effect at most clubs.
I do sincerely wish you well with your fight to stay up but feel bouncing back at the first attempt next season is a more likely scenario. Just how I see it!

the dig about Ole........if youd asked me that question 10mins after the game, well i wouldnt have been so polite, we had just lost in a game where the ref was a joke, are up to our eyes in a relegation battle..and some idiot who obviously DOESNT GET IT asks you that..........ffs

Good post at the top and I agree that the difference will be our defence not allowing other teams to "walk in to our goal" as it has happened far too often this season
However, all I saw yesterday (the above apart) were positive vibes that this team
CAN pull off the save of the season, i.e. avoiding relegation
Looking at the remaining fixtures, I can see at least 3 wins and 2 draws, but the optimist in me sees us collecting another 14 points IF we continue to improve as we have in the last couple of weeks
For me, I now believe Ole is starting to find his feet and is aware of what quality (or otherwise) he has at his disposal. He now appears to know what formation he can use in different situations and the team have shown a confidence and spirit that has been missing all season to date (including under Malky)
No-one will ever know factually whether Malky would have kept us up (I still think he deserved the sea on to find out

) but we are where we are and I think in Ole we have a little gem for the future and the paying fans at the CCS (and away) need to get behind him for the remaining games in the same fashion as they did versus a very good Liverpool side on Saturday

Will beat:
Crystal Palace
Stoke
Sunderland
Newcastle
And stay in PL next season.
Dont worry, be happy.

In all honesty I can't see us surviving in the Prem, the reason I say that is our goal difference and our last home game.
Stoke, Sunderland and Southampton are gonna be very difficult games and Palarse and West Brom will be just as much up for the battle as ourselves.
Mon Mar 24, 2014 1:03 am
A lot to think about here.
Ole has taken the reins at a difficult time but that was clear to him when he started. I agree that he needs at least a full season after this to embed his philosophy and look at consolidation of the squad. After all, Malky had backing from Tan in terms of a war chest so maybe more money will need to follow.
Pretty football is a luxury we can't afford at the moment. It needs to be gritty at times to grind out results. Bellers is a master of getting in players' faces and maybe the rest of the team need to try to follow suit and win ugly.
Swansea fell foul of expecting to win against WBA and Palace. We can't make the same mistake. WBA is a huge game. A must-win. Whatever it takes, the ball needs to hit the back of the onion bag or tears will follow!
There are winnable games there for me. The most challenge will come from Newc, Soton and Chelsea but each one could be a scalp worth chasing.
Mon Mar 24, 2014 1:36 am
West Brom (away) will be difficult to beat.
Prior to their 0-3 defeat against Man U, they drew three in a row 1-1 against Fulham, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Record is 3 wins, 7 draws, 5 defeats. A win would be great, a draw not the end of the world.
Palace at home again will be tough. Palace will come to grind out a result and be patient.
They have only scored 1 goal in their last 5 games, 0 in last 3.
They have only won 2, drawn 2 and scored only 6 in their 15 away games.
However in the 1-1 draw and the two 0-1 wins their goals were scored in the 82, 90 and 81 minutes of those games.
We have improved our scoring, with 7 in the last three, but WBA and Palace will be a lot more defensive than Liverpool and Fulham.
We tend to struggle to score against the team defence style that WBA and Palace will play. That said, WBA playing at home they may open their style a little more which may suit our style of play more.
Both of these two teams will want to get wins, so as long as we are patient too and retain our defensive discipline and are aware of their desire to seize on break away opportunities, especially in the last 10 minutes of play, then hopefully we can get 4 to 6 points from these two games.
Mon Mar 24, 2014 4:36 am
I had a pretty good feeling about the Liverpool game - and wasn't let down.
Sure they got 6; but 4 of those seemed like perfect chances...
9 men for a corner
no look pass to a perfectly in position Suarez
a mishit header by Caulker
a potential foul on Suarez at the end
At the end of the day the points will always be the only thing that matters, and if we keep up our play and plug up a few leaks I don't see why we can't stay up. I think some teams will really have a 'don't lose to Cardiff,' mindset. Which I believe gives us an edge in a lot of these games at the end of the season.
Also it was nice to see no one else winning around us on Saturday, so even though we lost to Liverpool - there wasn't any change in what we need to leapfrog a few teams.
