' AWFUL REF '

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=138411

Loved the protest and sea of blue today. Proud of the fans. Team gave it a real good go too but we need to defend set pieces 10 times better.

The sour note today was the ref. At least half the Scouse goals were contentious.

Making two of our players go off after injuries before we defended that corner was bizarre but the rules. However Mutch didn't have treatment! And the pressure that led to that came from a free kick for a ludicrous Sturridge dive.

Fabio was obviously fouled in the build up to anothergoal and even Suarez couldn't believe he got away with the foul for the last goal.

I never quite believed the big teams benefited from ref decisions but today's ref was appalling.

Wasn't he the one who failed to send Rooney off too in the home game.

Gerrard should have had a second yellow for his foul just outside the box in the first half

If he hadn't picked up a first yellow I can guarantee he would have been booked for that challenge

that dive by Sturridge was an absolute disgrace and the ref booked Fabio for it too

Spot on. This league is plagued with biased shit out refs and we had one today.

Re: AWFUL REF

Same ref as the one who bottled the decision to send Rooney off. Proves it's more about the name on the back of the shirt than anything else

Hopefully some of the awful decisions will be highlighted on Match of the Day

I bet you they do not mention the Gerrard second booking, the Sturridge dive, the fact that we had two players off the pitch for their third goal or the foul by Suarez for their last goal.

They will be too busy creaming themselves over the Liverpool win. We'll be lucky to get a mention other than to say we look doomed.

Was the difference between the sides today. I normally don't blame the ref for a loss but he was disgraceful

Re: AWFUL REF

Yep......if one of the 'big clubs' had two players who were not allowed on to the pitch to defend a corner at a crucial time in the game then they would be talking about how ludicrous the rules are etc, etc .. but when it comes to the smaller clubs it is ignored. It's a ridiculous rule. What is the point of it. The Goalie doesn't have to leave the pitch when he gets treated so why should anyone else. :x When defending a corner every player is crucial

As far as I could see Mutch was on his feet before the physio got to him.

Why did he have to go off the field then?

He sent the physio away twice and the ref still made him leave

The Fa should look at this refs performance, which was a disgrace, yes cardiff lost and no complaints but it could be claimed the ref was the 12th man for liverpool..............

Bias Bias Bias ..........

Imagine a Mourinho team losing a vital goal in those circumstances in a key game. He'd go bananas and it would get days of back page coverage.

The Ref today did not help us at all. In the last two games Everton and today both refs looked totally biased in my opinion and until last week Ive never blamed Refs in the past.

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Today he was more than dodgy.

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sat Mar 22, 2014 11:21 pm

Suarez (3 times) and Sturridge (twice) did outrageous dives to try to get free kicks and the ref chose not even to speak to the players. Add to that fact for a worse foul than the one Gerrard got booked for the ref inexplicably didn't give the player a second yellow card and you begin to wonder. For one Liverpool goal the ref instructed two City players to go off the pitch, when Mutch didn't even receive treatment. Again Liverpool's last 2 goals came from fouls committed by Liverpool that the ref again ignored. PL football? Until refs apply the Laws of the Game uniformly and without partiality the product is flawed.

StT.

Yes. The score should have been 3-3 to be fair. The ref was awful. Fabios tackle on Sturrige was not a foul. It was small contact but Sturrige kept his balance until he was in the penaltybox where he took a dive. Even if there was a foul from contact earlier, it should have been advantage then he took a dive, thats a yellow card. No Freekick, no corner, no men out.

Kenwyne Jones apperantly fouled Glen Johnson when he was only using strenght to get around him and get on the ball. But ok, if the ref sets the bar like that. Then why wasnt there given any freekick on Suarez vs Cala, almost exactly the same thing. Suarez shoved him from the back while Jones was on the side tho. Also, Fabio got the same treatment. Clearly a freekick from where the ref set the bar at no? Ref was really awful, and a joke. Thats 3 goals that shouldnt have been goals, very clearly. Cardiff did a great job, but was unlucky with the ref today.

Cardiff deserves 3 points today. But 1 point would have been plenty. To bad the judge really was a clown

When we sold Toshack to Liverpool, like many others, I kept a look out for their results - to see how Tosh had got on. After watching the likes of Sturridge and Suarez falling over today and thereby cheating, any 'soft spot' I had for them has disappeared. Man City or Chelsea for the title!

PS Delighted to take part and see the protest march numbers today! :ayatollah:

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

The Ref should have worn a white shirt today if Gerrard wasn't a 'name'then his challenge on Declan was a yellow card but the ref totally bottled it and should hang his head in shame :-(#

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

They have all been awful and biast all season. Unbelievably inconsistent just cause Cardiff have come up from the Championship they think we're going to kick them off the park and it winds me up when players are constantly conning the refs with thier simulation when it's so obvious to see there's no foul.
You get nothing for being honest in this league simulation gets you everything and it's spoiling the game. No penalties awarded to Cardiff all season.
I hate to say it but if we can't beat them join them, and maybe it's what Cardiff need to do to stay in the league and simulate and dive for the rest of the season.

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sun Mar 23, 2014 5:58 am

We're the only team in the entire football league to have not got a penalty...

Consistently awful refs... I wasn't able to make yesterday but WHAM was a shocker too... Total bias against it again it seems.

So have I,,,,,,& the worst thing about it, is that its so bloody obvious.

Thinking about it, Dave Jones had some pretty valid points when criticizing Premiership referees who officiated our Championship games a few seasons ago!

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

If the trainer just comes on the pitch for a player even if the player is not treated then that player has to leave the pitch, thems the rules, but besides two men off the field, we should not have conceded, very poor defending, no one on the goal line and Caulker loseing his man

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:32 am

I agree that the ref was awful - Fabio got smashed into next week before their last goal, Gerrard should have gone and Mutch didn't need to be sent off the pitch for treatment as such.

However, I also agree with Shearer on MOTD that despite that, the marking should have been better for Skrtel's second goal with all the players we had in the box - to let a carthorse like him wander in and score two goals takes the piss a bit...

As bad as it sounds because we would miss him if he got suspended, I was kind of hoping Marshall would come charging out and flatten Suarez for the last goal - we had nothing left to lose at that point anyway...

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sun Mar 23, 2014 9:43 am

Why did Mutch go down for anyways, he was hardly hit with the ball but yet HE chose to go down on his knees FFS

And cala's defending for the last goal was f*cking comical, be aggressive and suraez bounces off him

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sun Mar 23, 2014 9:48 am

And blameing the ref is the chicken shits way out

How about looking at OGS and asking why he did f**k all in stopping the space Johnson and henderson had all game, stop that supply and they would have had to use the other side which was Allen and flannagan and with the best will in the world that's nowhere near as good

Re: ' AWFUL REF '

Sun Mar 23, 2014 10:07 am

The ref refused to give thea ball to suarez cos he deserved it more
