Greetings gentleman from QPR Stan

Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:58 am

Long time lads I hope you're all healthy.

Well the Premier League eh? What's your opinions regardless of league position?

Speaking as a QPR fan it was the worst 2 years I can remember for a long time. Really didn't enjoy the experience at all & it just seemed like we didn't belong there. Not only were we completely mugged off by Mark Hughes & his agent in buying lots of extremely expensive mercenaries but the price of away days, the strive to finish mid table (is that fun?) was just total shit for me.

I will say the best thing was the exposure. Papers, Sky Tv, Football First & stuff like that was fantastic but at the end of the day if you can't compete with 75% of the other teams it's all a bit meaningless for me. £60 odd quid to go to places like Arsenal grated in me.

We did have some fantastic days don't get me wrong, beating the scum home & away was priceless, beating Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool to help keep us up the first year were blinding but in the whole that was it. Playing to survive every season is not fun for me. This will sound awful but I'm being honest I hope we don't go up this season. The Championship is a fantastic league with some cracking games & next year could be the best for many a year. Potentially in the league QPR, Cardiff, Fulham, Brentford, Wolves. To me that's proper games, proper days out where anyone could win. That's what I go to football for. The Premier League is just a my dicks bigger than your dick competition & unfortunately our dick was to small to compete with the big boys.

Cardiff. My views. I'm not on here to rub anyone up the wrong way anyone who knows me knows that but I can only be honest & say I think you'll go down. I don't think your have enough game changers in your squad to change what's happened over the past 29-30 games. The damage for me is done & in OGS who I think will be a fantastic manager after a few years in this country I don't believe he was the right man to bring in for a relegation battle. Probably a case of right man, wrong time. Maybe a Neill Warnock type until the end of the season would of been a better shot?

You have some very good players from what I've seen of you but some also like ourselves just didn't work out, Zaha has been a big disappointment IMO & it's players like that you need to perform to give you any chance. David Marshall has looked fantastic & Caulker is a player who will do big things.

It's great seeing new grounds & the whole buzz but should the inevitable happen I look forward to reigniting hostilities with you lads as Cardiff v QPR was always one of the first fixtures we all look forward to, always made for a lively affair.

You may go on a fantastic run & depending in others stay up! Who knows. But if not look forward to a really good CCC next season.

I know what you mean mate. Very unforgiving league.

One highlight though, fantastic hot dogs at Norwich! :D

The highlight has to be our first home game victory over Man City, & shortly after, our away win v Fulham. After that, things just rapidly descended into a farce. As for being mugged off by agents, well we really did hit the jackpot in that department!!!

3-2 at home against Man City and the draw with Man Utd they were two highlights the rest has been a bit of a blur, I know my bank balance has suffered with the away trips but they had to be done

Agree with all lads. Very expensive hobby but as you said needs to be done. In our first season we sold out of almost every away allocation we were given the second year I'd say it was half that. Do you think you'd have the same?

Regarding agents Mark Hughes signed near on 20 players & I believe 17 of them were on the books of his own agent Kia Joorabchian. Hmmmm very fishy. It does seem like you've made much of the same mistakes as us & millions upon millions have been wasted. Tony Fernandes is a great guy but he's bloody naive. Your guy seems smarter than him believe it or not just put to much faith & possibly responsibility in the hands of the wrong people. Just my opinion of course.

Winning the Championship > season in the Premiership for my. Myriad of reasons (mostly Tan) but that's just how it is.

Re: Greetings gentleman from QPR Stan

Good to hear you from again Stan, the Premiership for me has been dire, i much prefer the Championship, that's just my opinion, the off field antics of Vincent Tan hasn't helped mind, and that's putting it mildly, all the best, and good luck for the rest of the season. :ayatollah:

Cheers boys.

Nile as I say very selfish of me because the club needs the money from the PL but I hope & I don't think we'll go up. Been dire all season & Harry just hasn't brought in the right players.

:D the refs are shocking at times agree. Not much better down here in the CCC to be honest mate.

Yes Tan seems a tad unstable. I have this underlying feeling he'll bail out & want all his money back. I don't know as I don't know enough about the situation but from what I have read he's giving plenty of excuses regarding debt to equity it seems.

Glad to have you back Stan, used to enjoy reading your posts. Like you say the PL is not all its cracked up to be.

I think the highlights for me as some have already said will be Man City home, beating them 3-2 was incredible. The late equaliser against Man United was another and liverpool away with our fans after the game when they all stuck up for Malky. which sort of brings me on to the low points.

With Tan and all in the infighting and bickering amongst the fans has to be the worst point along with fans stood/sat next you who have never been to a game before, who are just their to watch the opposition.

I would love for us to stay up purely for being in the top division of the english league and completing agaisnt some of the best in the world, however it won't bother me in the slightest being back in the championship as its exciting and so unpredictable.

Good luck with the rest of the season :ayatollah:

As first tastes go, think many fans have a bitter taste in their mouths thanks to a certain gentleman from the Far East...

But we would all be happy to take another bite for next season..

Cheers Mikey.

Regarding new fans. Against Chelsea at home last season where tickets were like good dust as you can imagine in an 18,000 ground there was 4 oriental folk sitting in front of us all eating a picnic throughout the game literally not watching a thing. One of them was playing a handheld games console the whole match. You couldn't make it up. I don't miss shit like that.

Early season you looked fantastic & had a real bite about you. Seems things off the field effected that badly which is a real shame. Do you think you'll stay up?

I hear that mate. We said the same for differing reasons but it got worse :D

Typical QPR.

Unbelievable   luckily I havent witnessed anything as bad as that.

Looking at some of our remaining fixtures my heart says yes we can pull off a shock and stay up but if I'm honest with myself OGS hasnt had enough time to put his stamp on things and we'll go down.

I honestly believe if OGS had been here from the start of the season we would have stayed up but in the same instance if Malky had been left alone to do his thing and been given the same amount of money as OGS had in January we would have stayed up as well.

What ever happens to us whether it be PL or Championship next season I hope OGS stays. I don't see any benfit in us changing manager

Re: Greetings gentleman from QPR Stan

I don't think you'll change manager again. It was always a risky strategy sacking a popular manager but I believe OGS will turn out to be a good appointment.

Remember we stayed up on the final day at the Etihad in the most surreal game I'm ever been to so until the fat lady sings. Not sure how many points we had at this stage compared to yourselves. Would be interesting to see.

It's not for me either, there's the top 10, then the rest. Aswell as the customary shocking atmosphere at most grounds we just haven't had any luck at all. Take our last game at Everton, they had 2 deflected goals, one in the 93 rd min, Sunderland at home equaliser in the 95 th min, again deflected. Those 4 points are crucial. All the real clubs with real fans are in the championship anyway. f**k the money, it's the place to be.
