Wilfried Zaha can exact payback for parent club Manchester United if he gets Liverpool chance
Friday Mar 21st 2014 By Steve Tucker
Solskjaer says the England under-21 international is ready to play 90 minutes but that it is his decision if he does or not
Wilfried Zaha
As a Manchester United player there is nothing Wilfried Zaha would like more than to play a part in the downfall of Liverpool this weekend.
The high-flying Reds arrive in the Welsh capital to face the wideman’s current club Cardiff City off the back of a 3-0 dismissal of Zaha’s parent outfit at Old Trafford, a result which sent shockwaves through the Premier League.
The 21-year-old is surely straining at the leash to exact a bit of revenge for his United colleagues, dent those Liverpool hopes of glory and at the same time do the Bluebirds survival hopes no harm at all by picking up a shock result.
But the big question is, will Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even hand Zaha the chance to do anything at all against Brendan Rodgers’ men?
When the Norwegian took the reins at the Bluebirds at the start of the year all eyes were on the his movements in a vital January transfer market.
In the end it proved a mixed shopping list from Solskjaer, a case of the old, the new and the who?
There was the trio of Norwegians all with links to his former club Molde in Magnus Eikrem, striker Jo Inge Berget and the talented Mats Daehli.
Then a couple of more experienced top-flight names in Kenwyne Jones from Stoke and Fabio from United and also, late on, defender Juan Cala arrived from Sevilla sending many scurrying to the internet for information.
But in that month, if there was one name which fired the imagination, one which instilled fresh hope of survival in the heart of even the most pessimistic of Cardiff supporters, then it was that of Zaha himself.
Here was the definitive electric wideman, a man blessed with wild, untamed talents yet a player deemed ready to operate on the international stage for England.

I can't see Zaha in the starting line up. We lose more than we gain with him. Perhaps as a second half substitute to try to win the game, but not any sooner.
Besides, is he really going to be that bothered about revenge for Man U's loss to Liverpool? I'd say he's more interested in getting his career back on track.

I've yet to be impressed with him for more than 5 minutes at a time - his feet look as if they are stumbling, his running not assured. Might be confidence, might be lack of match fitness etc.
For a winger he doesn't look up very much - when he didn't get that disputed corner late on v Everton, Campbell was in a great position in the D calling for a pull back.
I hope he does better for us soon - not much time for him to show anyone anything.
Will support him whenever he's in our shirt though, so hope he comes good cos he repeats his best Palace form he will make and score goals

He is due a big game. He could even come off the bench and he has the ability to change a game

My view on Zaha - oodles of talent but not experienced enough to utilize it correctly - he has actually impressed me a lot since he came as he is more of a player that i thought he was
If he has a good game i can see him being fantastic - if he is not on form it will be an average performance
He is certainly a player for the future - question is will he be able to cut it for the big games in the crucial period

I would assume a 2nd half sub for Zaha - You can't help to look a little closer when he has the ball, but it also means when he tends to lose it you curse his name.
A true wildcard for the Liverpool game imo.

I bet Liverpool's defence are shitting themselves at the thought of Zaha regularly messing things up on the wing.

I think he has been disappointing in the main. Looks a bit 'stiff and awkward to me...

Wilfred Zaha is a luxury player to have in your side. When he's on form he wins you the game. When he's poor it's like playing with 10 men. CC are struggling with 11 v 11 this season nevermind trying to carry a luxury. Just my opinion.

Zaha will come good. We just have to hope it isn't next season (with another club) when it happens!
