THE CLUB ISSUE STATEMENT ABOUT THE PROTEST

Thu Mar 20, 2014 6:55 pm

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=138288

Cardiff City Football Club would like to thank supporter group organisers, including the official Cardiff City Supporters Club and Supporters Trust for working to ensure the pre-match march to the Fred Keenor statue on Saturday afternoon will be peaceful, non-offensive and to clear timelines.

Following the march, organisers have been invited to sit down with the Chairman before kick-off, as stadium staff help facilitate safe and efficient entry for participants ahead of an important Premier League fixture.

Of most importance is for a shared and positive focus to remain at a critical stage of the season. All at the club are fully committed to working with fans to ensure the team receives the best possible support, both home and away for our remaining fixtures.

Thank you as always for your support.

Maybe I'm a bit paranoid but I've read this four times now and somehow still feel suspicious of its content. Its even more important that thousands turn up in blue, stick to the agenda, peacefully demonstrate and then support the team.

They know the tide is turning, and know that this march will be bigger than anything that's gone before.
They also know that the T V and press will be there.

Would that be the same "stadium staff" who have of late ,confiscated supporter banners & left a stadium containing fans voicing their opinion , in darkness ! I don't need Vincent Tan's henchmen to facilitate my safe entry into the stadium nor do I require advice in relation to supporting the Bluebirds ! What I would like is our history & tradition respected and our pride back !

Give that cretinous Malaysian weasel features Tan as much abuse as he fully deserves.

I think its a very professional response by the club and good to see they're willing to talk after the protest can't get a better chance to convey the fans feelings towards the rebrand once more

Club have been very cute here. Praising the organisers for a respectful march and asking to sit down and talk......if the march turns offensive they will refuse to sit down and talk with fans and its the fans that will be seen as the bad guys in the media. Now more than ever this march needs to be peaceful.

The march hasn't even happened yet and it's proving to be effective. Come on let's get the numbers and show how much we really want our identity back ! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

True :ayatollah: The club know the worlds media will be there so They issue this statement with a few sweeteners in it to make them look good. E.g we will meet the organisers for talks. Then if it all goes pear shaped with the chants etc. They and the media can turn against us and the whole media backing will turn on its head.

Strange that none of the organisers have stated that they would be meeting your chairman after the march.

As one may say, hmmmmmmmmmm.

The club is playing a game here with the intention to turn the march into a none peaceful event.

I say we march, demonstrate peacefully at the entrance and ignore dialogue with the club for now.

If anyone steps into a meeting with the chairman I think they need to make it perfectly clear that until we see the return to our traditional colours then these protests are going to keep happening, Also unity needs to be restored and there's only one way that is going to happen.

To be fair when I saw the club had made a statement I thought it would be something down the lines of them being disappointed that a minority of fans blah blah, and that we should all be getting behind ole and the team rather than taking the attention off them and putting it on tan.

I hope to god the organizers ignore you. By ignoring the first request for dialogue you will f**k everything up. You go and listen to what they say and say thanks but no thanks. By ignoring the olive branch the fans will be seen as nothing more than obsructive, disprutive with ulterior motives.

Ive been involved with high level meetings involving indusrial action and one thing is perception is everything. Make it look as though you want to talk and the other side is disruptive.

You finally figured this one out have you? Why do you think Tan did you an ayatollah against fulham?
Certain mods on here walkes straight into it, spewing hatered, aggrevate the kids with anti propaganda.
The march is for history, but could easily be dismissed as a part of history that should be forgotten.
But maybe a life ban for one or two organizers could be a good thing..

I'm surprised the club hasn't banned a few already for the lies and abuse aimed at Vincent Tan and others within the club.

Maybe some people have stepped over the mark with comments on a forum but for the club to ban them from going to games

I just can't understand your passion for Vincent Tan and his rebrand???
