THE FIVE PLAYERS LIKELY TO LEAVE IF WE GET RELEGATED

Thu Mar 20, 2014 5:23 pm

So if the worst possible happens and we are relegated, how many players do we think we'll be able to keep hold of? Sure Tan may offer them more cash to stay but will it be enough? Here's my five who I think will leave if Cardiff go down: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/03/20/dc-five-players-that-may-leave-cardiff-if-bluebirds-are-relegate/

Marshall and Caulker will both be big losses.

Medel has been ok but we vastly overpaid for him. Our goals against total this season (which would beeven worse except for Marshall) would tend to suggest that Medel has not been giving the protection to the back four that he was bought for.

Bellamy will be no great loss. A player who's best days are behind him.

Mutch is a fine player but is injury prone and seems incapable for playing a full 90 minutes. Only a newly promoted team would probably take a risk on him.

I think Marshall could go either way to be honest. I hate to admit it because he has been immense. He is our best player in my opinion but he was part of the dream team last week. Big clubs have noticed him.

Whether we stay up or nit is nit really the issue. Does he want to develop his career at a bigger club?

He needs to be careful though because chasing the elite club can end up turning you into a bench warmer. Look at Sinclair from Swaaaaansea. He has languished in the dugout or even not picked at Man City even early on after the move.

It's sad but some big clubs buy players just to stop them playing for their original side.

One thing for me - if or when Marshall goes, I will applaud him all the way off the field at get end of his last game for Cardiff. He has given us a chance this year.

I think we need a clear out anyway if I'm honest.

To many high earners who just don't cut it.
