Juan Cala: home games like Liverpool key to Cardiff City staying in the Premier League
Cardiff City fans have been told they can roar Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to a Premier League great escape... starting against Liverpool this weekend.
The Bluebirds’ Spanish defender Juan Cala reckons home form holds the key to the club’s Premier fate and is adamant they can pick up enough points at Cardiff City Stadium to avoid relegation.
Solskjaer’s men still have daunting clashes to play in the Welsh capital against title-chasing Liverpool and Chelsea, while they also host fellow strugglers Crystal Palace plus Mark Hughes’ Stoke.
Those four matches, Cala maintains, are the ones the Bluebirds can win, the ball-playing centre-back saying: “We have looked a much better team over our last three matches – and everything is possible in front of our home fans.
“Playing at home will definitely help us. Win our home games and we will keep our place in this division.
“During this last fortnight we have seen another Cardiff City, one working much harder, a better team. We did well at Everton, despite losing.
“We controlled the game for large parts and lost with one of the last kicks. I think the penalty decision that went against Wilf Zaha was very important too as it would have enabled us to lead 2-1 and try to hold on for the win.
“The performance showed again we can compete against leading clubs and we must maintain those same standards over the rest of this season.”
Former Spanish under-19 international Cala, who joined the Bluebirds from Sevilla, is ready to tackle head-on the challenge of marking super-strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
“For me Premier League football is the best around the world. Cardiff have given me a chance to prove myself, it has always been my desire to play here,” he said.

I personally think that anything against Liverpool will just be a bonus. Our fightback starts when the final whistle blows after the Liverpool game. We cant afford any stupid mistakes after that.
Cant believe its come this close to relegation, we could easily be anywhere between 11th and 15th by now with a bit of luck and some balls..

Sturridge scores for Liverpool. Campbell gets a penalty in the second half. Bellamy takes it and it's 1–1. Cardiff wins a corner in the 80th minute, and Caulker wins the header to secure a 2–1 victory.

A PENALTY!?!?
Don't be ridiculous, we aren't allowed them.

All the idiots who said cala would be shit and brought up stats or had some family member who's an expert football scout that saw him play in Spain/Greece quote this post with "I'm a tosser and I got it hugely wrong". Thanks.

We aren't allowed to give them away either...
