Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give late fitness tests on Ben Turner and Andrew Taylor, other than that Ole has a full/fit squad to pick from

Mark Hudson out for the rest of the season.

Cardiff duo hoping to return - Cardiff will hope to have Ben Turner and Andrew Taylor fit following knocks for Saturday

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could stick with a 5-man defence after his Cardiff side came within minutes of taking a point off Everton at Goodison Park last time out.

Ben Turner remains a doubt so Kevin Catherine-Théophile could play in central defence, though he played on the right and got forward like a right-back with Fabio further forward last time out.

Peter Whittingham will be pushing for a recall.

Mark Hudson is out for the season.

' LIVERPOOL '

Team News

Liverpool welcomed back Mamadou Sakho and Lucas Leiva in to the squad last week, with Lucas getting a brief cameo at the end of the Old Trafford win.

Both of these players are likely to once again take their seats on the bench with Brendan Rodgers likely to name an unchanged side.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand and nine matches to play.

Liverpool have the same injury worries this week, with only Coates and Enrique out.

Brendan Rodgers is likely to stick with the same team and formation that worked so well at Old Trafford last week.
However, Coutinho was left out and he could be in with a chance of a recall, possibly more suited to the central role that Sterling played.

There is a game this weekend? You wouldn't have thought so, reading this site. :ole: Club is in the midst of a massive relegation battle, and playing against one of the most famous sides in the world. Let's get ourselves in a tizz about the colour of a shirt I'm not wearing. There is a time and a place, and this is not it. Here's hoping for a positive result. :ayatollah:

Preview & injury news

Two sides with two very different ambitions but both of them need the three points. Cardiff could do with the points to aid their survival effort, whilst Liverpool are chasing their first league title in 24 years.

The home side currently sit three points from safety but have played a game more than some of their rivals. Having won their last home match against Fulham to show signs that they can survive in the division, they were cruelly denied a point after losing in the last minute to Everton at Goodison Park last week. Ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became manager, the Bluebirds have only picked up the seven points - and have only kept one clean sheet in the league. The Cardiff boss - being an ex-Manchester United player - would love nothing more than for his side to find form this weekend.

For Liverpool, they are on their best run of form in the league this season having won five league games on the bounce. Their latest was a comprehensive 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, leading to several commentators and pundits saying they are real contenders for the Premier League title - whilst their fans are starting to believe. They currently sit second in the table, four points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. However, the title does remain in the hands of Manchester City who are two points behind Liverpool having played two games less. But with title rivals Chelsea and Arsenal playing each other this weekend, nothing less than a win will do for the visitors.

On the injury front, both sides have very few problems. Mark Hudson is unavailable due to a hamstring injury whilst Ben Turner and Andrew Taylor are both doubts with knocks.

For Liverpool, they only have one player sidelined with Jose Enrique still recovering from a long-term knee injury. Lucas Leiva made his first appearance since January in last week's win at Old Trafford, and Mamadou Sakho returned to the squad.

Hopefully we can build on recent performances, I'm not expecting much points wise but after the Spurs and Everton displays and a crucial win at home against Fulham, I hope we can take confidence from these games into the West Brom, Palace and Stoke games.

Cmon City let's shock every fucker ! :ayatollah:

A late winner from Seamus Coleman saw Cardiff denied what would have been an invaluable point at Goodison Park last weekend. A sterling effort from Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s side was not rewarded however, and they returned to south Wales with nothing to show for the efforts after the game ended 2-1 to the Toffees.

Steven Caulker remains Cardiff’s defensive leader this term, repeatedly putting his body on the line and organising those around him. He leads the Cardiff squad for total defensive contributions this season according to the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index with 383.

Last weekend’s result was particularly harsh on ‘keeper David Marshall, the Cardiff ‘stopper putting in yet another excellent performance which unfortunately ended in a losing effort. It’s no surprise to see that he tops the league for saves with 120 this season, and remains the only ‘keeper to have moved into triple figures this campaign.

Jordon Mutch has emerged as a valuable attacking force for Cardiff this season, seemingly relishing the challenge of competing against the best defenders the Premier League has to offer. He will have to be mindful of own defensive technique this weekend though, given that he leads the Cardiff squad for fouls conceded this term with 37.

Defensive midfielder Guy Medel will be crucial to Cardiff’s chances of success this weekend as not allowing Liverpool to get into their attacking rhythm could set the tone for the rest of the game. His stats suggest he is up to the task though, with Medel remaining the only Cardiff player to have moved into triple figures for tackles attempted this season (104), winning a solid 63.5% of them.

Liverpool think City is gonna be a walk in the park, they're still "high" after sundays victory at OT. Our defense, which has improved great the last 3 games, is gonna be solid today and Marshall gets another clean sheet. Whitts or Zaha gaines us 3 points after a final score of 1-0.

PS! Gerrard misses a penalty shot, after a brilliant save by Marshall at the end of stoppage time :ayatollah:

Their 2nd was such a poor goal to concede and this has been our problem.
We will need to score 2 more to have a chance of winning this and just can't see it.
Wish we had showed this character 10 games ago
