HOW MANY WILL IT TAKE ?

Tue Mar 18, 2014 8:26 pm

I have thought for some time it would take 37 points to stay up this season but I am now thinking 35 points may just scrape it, my biggest concern about 35 points would be goal difference being a factor.

Current Table

How many points do you think would be the absolute minimum to stay up this season ?

I reckon at least 4 wins and a draw. Our goal average is awful so we are one point worse off than most.

But the Good news is

I've been thinking 34points will be enough ( as long as we take a point each from WBA and Sunderland ) Once you take in the run in off the other teams around us . I still think we'll finish higher than at least 4 teams.

Simple answer: 35 points.

There are 2 many fixtures where clubs play each other at the bottom to force the total up. Points will be lost around us so fewer needed to go up.

R u happy with that though! Makes us look proper scroungers. I'd rather aim higher than the line. How about finishing above our little cousins up the road? That's what OGS said he wanted as his first target when he arrived. Anything less will give VT a reason to clip his wings. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Beat WBA Sunderland and Palace and we will be up picking a few extra points elsewhere, lose to any of them and we would be down IMO..

Always some "strange" results in the Premier League at the end of the season, so difficult to say...

How many times have we looked on in amazement as team's pull it out of the proverbial hat when looking into the abyss on the final day??

All we can do is our best as a team and as supporters. That (and a little bit of luck) can see use ok

i still think 33 points could sneak us in...i cant see WBA getting much or Palace

think we need 10 points min. maybe 11 with our goal diff so bad.

3 wins - away west brom, home to palace and stoke and a draw at sunderland or newcastle is still do-able! West brom is key. 6 points, cup final!

It's never going to happen, under Ole our side is awful in terms of organisation.

I too think goal difference could be a kick in the balls for us...

Would be nothing worse than going down on fkin goal difference! We need to take points from West Brom & Sunderland if we can - tall order IMO
