' City Fans vote overwhelmingly to return to 'Blue' '

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137999

Tuesday 18th March 2014.

Please find below a Press release issued by the Trust today. The full results of the survey will be available on our website www.ccfctrust.org today.

You will note that some questions do not appear to have any information included - these are questions where respondents were asked to insert their comments.

Fans vote overwhelmingly for a return to blue

Cardiff City fans have sent an unequivocal message to their club – a total rejection of the rebrand and a demand for a return to playing in blue.

85.21% (847) of supporters who responded to the annual fans’ survey said the Trust should continue to campaign against the rebrand.

Just 2.41% (24) of all those polled supported the rebrand while only 2 (0.75%) Trust members that filled in the survey supported it. 83.58% of  members wanted the Trust to continue to oppose the colour change with 15.67%  disagreeing with the rebrand, but reluctantly accepting it.

A total of 1,002 responded to the survey.

Other findings from the survey included:

·       58% of members were happy with the match day experience.

·       81% of members were happy with the way the Trust has performed.

·       76.7% of fans described the past 12 months as disappointing.

When fans were asked about what had caused them most concern over the past year, the top responses were the rebrand, the sacking of Malky Mackay and the off-field distractions. Supporters also questioned the major
shareholder's long term commitment to Cardiff City. There was a perception of a lack of football knowledge at the club and concern that it is not properly engaging with supporters.

Tim Hartley, chair of Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust, said: “These results show a hardening of opposition by fans to the rebrand. It is now obvious that they haven't been won over and it is not being embraced.

“Just 24 fans out of nearly 1,000 fans who answered the question supported Mr Tan’s change to red. The message could not be more clear – fans want a return to blue. This is not a vocal minority, but now a very large and vocal majority who want a change.

“We hope all Cardiff City fans who want a return to blue will demonstrate their support by taking part in the protest march before the Liverpool game on Saturday to send another strong message to the club.

“The full results of the survey are being published and will be made available to the club.”

Trust board member Jon Day, who organised the poll, thanked both Trust and non-Trust members for taking the time to fill out the survey.

Its way long overdue by the trust but better late than never.just hope the continue wuth all this but I would like to no what the trusts involvement is going to be from now on in because they have been weak..
Its obvious after those results what trust members what point do the trust have the strength to back there members and follow this up with tan and Cardiff City.

I really do hope so and if they do lots will join the jury is out on the trust I hope they have the balls to really put up a strong fight for its members its way overdue.

The only survey you will get the real numbers from is a poll of season ticket holders .

I can't believe 58% of them are happy with the match day experience ?
Massively overpriced and flat beer in plastic cups
Awful food at very expensive prices
Massive queues due to not enough turnstiles to enter the ground making people miss the start of games
Cold boring concourses under the stands
Poor atmosphere ( could be easily sorted if they wanted to )

I hate the match day experience and don't buy a thing when in the ground

Nothing will stop me watching the city but football apart the rest is awful

It would be great Thomas, Ive been asking our club to do this for nearly two years, falls on deaf ears. The Supporters Cub have done one and its about 95% in favour of return to BLUE

I think the club are scared of the outcome so it will never happen .
I expect the members of the supporter clubs to vote blue , the problem is there are many thousands not associated with either who don't care about the rebrand and actually probably like red . That is the main problem facing the protests and tans biggest weapon against any protest .

Very true, which shows by not letting all season ticket holders have a vote, he is acting like a Dictator.
I expect over 3,000 to march

I hope so, 3000 would be a massive success!
What do you they they could do about match day atmosphere then?
And Thomas in most part I think people choose to turn up 10 mins before kick off and rant bothered about missing it as they'd rather a pint!

I cant believe this wasn't 100% to return to blue, 1% to red would be 1% to many :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

No surprise is it?

This march Saturday will indicate to me how serious we are as a set of fans for wanting the blue back. Yes I agree with some that it is 18 months too late but a good turn out will damped that disappointment.

I think there is loads they could do to improve the atmosphere . Especially in the concourses to get fans started before they go to seats .
Decent beer and food at decent prices
Get the speakers working so we can here team announcements and music before the game
Show old classic Cardiff games on the tv's lime they do in the away ends
How abbout large screens showing last week's games with commentary

If the fans are put in the mood to sing and are up for it that will pass onto the stands during the game .st the moment it's poor fir what you pay for .
There is a lot they could do and don't .

Sorry to piss on the parade but Tan will never bow down to the fans demand. The more you protest the more the dictator will dig his heels in.

If it was us over here then we'd take a more direct approach like we did at the Goldstone ground and that's to boycott a game but you're all caught between the rock and hard place so to speck as the team need your backing to survive and stay up. Just saying we want our club back, ie, the colour, that isn't going to work.

:sleepy2: :sleepy2: :sleepy2:

Fed up of fans of other clubs saying it would be different at their club... truth is... the majority of clubs would be just the same. Fanbases change.

What was the question?

I'd be surprised if anyone didn't prefer a return to blue, I wonder how many actively want it or would want it even if it meant Tan leaving the club.

Annis, I can't recall the supporters club canvassing it's members, I may be wrong and will check this out with Clive Francis the chairman, Saturday there were some long term members on our bus who were rightly complaining that they hadn't be asked if they were in support of the march or not Hmmmm.
I will be seeking clarification from the committee and reporting back to the people who travel with us every week.

I can't believe this.

It costs cash to buy clobber so I can in a way understand why some wear the red.

But this was a chance to say what we think as a supporters group. Why aren't we at 100%? Scared of Tan? Lost sight of over 100 years of history, most of it written in blue ink!

Some people need to look at themselves in the mirror or better still, take an x ray and see if there's a backbone in there. If you cut my head off, the blood is red but the soul is blue.
