THAT INJURY TIME GOAL SUMS UP OUR SEASON

Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:53 pm

Even when we look like getting something from a game we let it go .... its happened so many times this season and to me its the reason why we have absolutely no chance of staying up, WE JUST AINT UP TO IT .... yes we have to keep believing but lets face it we are the second worst side in this league by a country mile and if it wasnt for gary medel and david marshall we`d have been relegated already .... this season on and off the field as been a complete disaster and the sooner its over so we can regroup and get rid of vincent tan and back to playing in blue the better .... we will be back ... BIGGER AND FECKING BETTER THAN EVER!

Couldn't agree more.
Results seem to decide people opinions on off the field issues which is stupid.

Everton 2- Cardiff 1: Slice of good fortune floors Bluebirds

IT took the luck of the Irish to beat a great Scot and break Welsh hearts.

Just when Scotland keeper David Marshall, with a series of superb saves, seemed to have earned Cardiff a surprise draw, up stepped Seamus Coleman.

Deep into injury time, Coleman became the goal man. Everton’s Irish right-back sliced his shot. He couldn’t have placed it any better if he had tried.

Into the roof of the net it went, despite the despairing efforts of the Cardiff defence.

It was the difference between disappointment and delight for most at Everton. It was devastating for City.

So Everton’s faint hopes of atop-four ?nish are still alive. Now their winning run on their own patch is extended to seven matches. And how Cardiff, so close to a precious point, rued Coleman’s looping, lucky decider.

“It was an outstanding performance,” said boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It produced no points, despite a masterclass from the magni?cent Marshall.

“He was phenomenal,” said Everton boss Roberto Martinez. “It was as good an individual performance as you are going to see from a goalkeeper.”

Marshall tipped a ferocious effort from Romelu Lukaku over the bar.

He ?ung himself to his right to touch the striker’s low shot wide. As the game entered added time, he made a point-blank block to keep out Ross Barkley’s header.
He has proved the days when Scottish goalkeepers were a joke are consigned to the past. Now owner Vincent Tan’s bizarre reign at Cardiff includes Marshall’s law: shots shalt not pass. It took something strange to beat him.

It sounds to me likes according to some on here that every time Cardiff are defeated its because of the rebrand.

Cardiff boss Solskjaer on last-gasp Everton loss: Now I know how Sammy Kuffour felt in European Cup Final

As he conceded afterwards with a wry smile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows all about miraculous victory in the 93rd minute.

This time, he was on the wrong end of such cruel misfortune as his Cardiff side’s brave performance was left unrewarded in the most painful way with Seamus Coleman’s slow-motion winner.

The Bluebirds' boss, of course, will forever be remembered for his dramatic winner under even more amazing circumstances for Manchester United in the 1999 European Cup Final.

That surely, will forever be the highlight of his remarkable career, but his emotion perhaps stretched by the injustice of Everton’s brutal winner, he insisted afterwards steering Cardiff to safety would rank above even that amazing night against Bayern.

“I know how Sammy Kuffour felt now - exactly! Ah well, when you are at this end of it, then it’s not very nice,” he admitted with a flicker of a smile.

“Would it rank up there with my best achievements if we survive? Believe me, it would rank the highest - and it will.....!”

It shocks me that people didn't expect us to be in a relegation battle

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did his best to stay positive but, try as he might, there was no escaping from the seriousness of the situation.
Cardiff’s manager has been continually upbeat since taking his first job in the Premier League but there was a shift in his tone after five minutes on Saturday that turned the season upside down.
From looking poised to win at Everton as their relegation rivals struggled, Seamus Coleman’s late goal at Goodison Park - coupled with West Brom snatching victory at the death in Swansea - plunged Cardiff into the drop zone.
