Welcome back
I thought he had a great game today for the half hour or so he was on .
Looked really fresh and up for a fight , never seen him chase opponents so much , obviously he's taken the negative comments about his performances gone away and worked on his faults ! Couldn't fault him today he showed great character to come back from his last few appearances and play like that
And a great cross for the equaliser , exactly the set piece balls we have been missing all season

Looked like the rest Ole gave him has done him good

He played well. Should be in the team every week now. He needed the time away IMO.

Good news.

That slide tackle he made was brilliant, looked the Whitts we all know and love

Did do well when he came on. Cracking delivery for our goal as well.

Funny how people were saying Ole sub was wrong when first logged on.
If Ole can re-train Whitts and bring back his attacking ability I think he would fit into Ole systems very well.

Just his assists would do, no playing as a sweeper like he did last season.

So the season where he got 15-20 goals would be great again

Because of the rotation team, players should be more fit, more sharp, Thats the idea from Fergie time.
Whitts were wonderful today

He looked fresh......
Anyone can take a free kick or corner
The boy is sheer class but needed a break

Tell Mutch that

Glad he played well - he needs to find his old form again though if he wants to play a part in keeping us up
Don't know how OGS will fit him in the team though with Mutch being one of our key players this season

Only listened to the game. So hard to tell how he done. I really hope he gets his confidence back but just don't think he will ever be consistent enough over the course of a season. Seems like a top bloke and never deserved what happened to him just think we have better.

His biggest problem this season IMO, was that he wanted too much time on the ball and got closed down too often, his reaction time was spot on at Everton and he should have had a chance to test himself against Tim Howard, when Zaha was felled!

I half agree with you but he had no upfield targets....At least now he can always chip into into the corners knowing we have quickish wingers chasing down balls and moving the game upfield. When every team sussed us after 8~10 games he was knackered as Frazier up front on his own didn't scare any team.

agree fully, it did look like we was taking forever......but as you say if there isnt an obvious ball you have to re asses ,and more often than not nothing opened up,,so having spent what seemed an eternity n the ball, the result was a sideways retention pass that frustrated our fans......

I have to laugh when the boy who I rate who has been slaughtered on here creates our goal on Saturday he is the man again. Some of you are so two faced its unbelievable. Now he is back in favour who will you slaughter now it can't be Cowie , Taylor or Turner because they aren't playing'!!!

Whitts is over-played and over-worked every season. His form tails off after Christmas because he's knackered and his confidence drops.
He looked back to his old self when he came on Saturday and could be like a new signing for us for these last 8 games.
Let's face it, we haven't got anyone who can play the passes he can.

Love that hes back, such a good player when he's confident, would of bet my house on him scoring a freekick last season and the season before that, shame he hasn't done to well this season. (IMO Malky was playing him in the wrong position) But hes got 8 games to show his class and god I hope he does! Lets just hope Ole uses him right and gets the best out of him! by far my favorite city player

Whitts coming back to form will be timely as Kimbo has been looking like he needs a rest recently. Let's be fair, either of them can provide a magic moment in a game but when he is on his game I would want Peter Whittingham standing over the ball for a set piece every time?
