MARTINEZ ON SOLSKJAER AFTER TODAY

Sat Mar 15, 2014 7:39 pm

Everton manager Roberto Martinez was full of praise for Cardiff following the Toffees’ 2-1 win at Goodison Park.

The Bluebirds looked to be heading for a draw, but Seamus Coleman’s injury-time winner ensured the points were Everton’s.

“Cardiff were magnificent in what they did,” the Spaniard said. “I thought they were very aggressive in the right manner and had a real good intensity in what they were doing.

“They were flexible tactically where they started with a back three and swapped it around and adapted really well.

“I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought a different approach in the way they play and looking at today’s performance Cardiff will have enough points to achieve their aim.”

David Marshall showed real class in the Bluebirds goal and this did not go unnoticed by Martinez.

“You need to highlight the performance of David Marshall. It was as good as you are going to get performance wise in a goalkeeper.”
