OGS - not enough time

If only OGS had become manager earlier on in the season and had more time to work with the team etc who knows :ole:

Think what could be if we gain belief and momentum along with confidence when we win the league next season and return to the prem.

Nah he needs a pre-season.

He doesn't have a preferred system by the looks of it. With all I've read on him prior to coming here he changed up formation quite a bit back at Molde. Which he has done here and it has cost us at times. You can call it being reactive but I call it disruptive to our teams cohesion.

He'll need to offload some of the crap we have and find a system and try and stick with it. I am all for reactive management but it has to be done smartly. Not just 4-4-2 one week then 4-3-3 the other etc.

Plus a good few months where his scouts find players will help. He came in very early on in January so he had to go with players he knew before coming here which has its pros and cons.

I do think if we appointed say Pulis a little earlier we may have done better seen as he has a suited style and he sticks to it rigidly. But as I said, OGS is still trying to find his system.

I like the fact he is willing to change formation. Realised they had just 1 up top so 3 centre backs was pointless. Maybe that should have been noticed before the game, or was it that their number 10 role player was too deep to trouble the defence

We definitely needed to have picked a manger for the season rather than half a season.

1/3 to go down now

I would love to see this squad with a full pre season under OGS. Whatever happens, I think we will be in safe hands should he remain.

Return?

We aren't relegated yet? :?

Agreed.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if OGS had 35m to spend in the summer and a pre-season to work with the players I dont think we would be in this mess.

Sadly I feel its too little too late now.

Tan took too long to get rid of Malky, the damage was beyond repair way before he finally pulled the trigger.

im looking forward to seeing how we far next season under Ole, regardless of what division we are in.

Do think its too late now though, but a good clear out in the summer and i think we will be ok.

Out of interest, the 3 relegated clubs from last season are in the top 7 of the championship. With the money we will have i see no reason we couldnt bounce straight back up should we fall! :ayatollah:

This is very heartening - Wolves dropped like a stone, and Bolton have suffered, but QPR/Reading/Wigan have done alright considering Burnley are the dark horse and Leicester have finally clicked.

I will never, ever forget last season - for me it was very personal, like many of us I was introduced to the City by my Dad and part of the emotion of promotion for me was remembering him. But it will be perhaps more enjoyable if we manage to get promotion and actually play some consistently-attacking football from time to time.

Last season was a bit of a grind - I know the Championship is, but it didn't need to be against lower teams especially at home.

Anyhow, it all hypothetic as we're staying UP!!! :ayatollah:

Sums up my feelings

Ole has brought in 7 of his own players, he has had 18 league games to play and 3 cup games to play. We were not even in the bottom 3 when he arrived. Were not talking about 5 or 6 games here or having to catch other teams up above us. I still think we can still stay up. Its always been in our own hands

7 players for 6m whilst Malky spent 35m on 5 players.

Inherited what was still a championship squad in piss poor form and heading for the relegeation zone with the most difficult games of the season to come.

Do the math Annis.

Spot on Derek.

Everyone knows how hard it is to sign players in January, Malky himself always had trouble.

The time to build a squad is over the summer

This "We were not in the relegation zone" doesnt wash with me I am afraid.

Arsenal were top of the league for most of the season up until about a month ago, does that mean they will win the league? Does it bollocks.

It doesnt matter where you are after 18 games its after 38 games that count.

The summer is going to be exciting whatever division we are in. I can see Ole bringing some quality in, while shipping the deadwood out such as KTC, Brayford, Maynard, cowie, Taylor, Kim and a couple more.

One thing I will say, OGS will be more attractive to players than Malky was, just because of who he is and what he's achieved in the game.

Re: OGS - not enough time

imo malky was / is only being supported to get at tan
if tan had not rebranded us the majority on here backing malky would of being calling for him to go a lot earlier
we were droping like a stone under malky but he was being and still seems to be supported just to get at tan
the football we played in our last 3 games has been so much better but still that's not good enough for the malky lovers :ole: :ole:
