Bubbles bursting...complete domination

Fri Mar 14, 2014 9:36 pm

Interesting to see that Tim Sherwoods initial success as a manager appears to be fading fast. He seemed like a self confident bloke, ex footballer with the club, and a popular (or maybe populist) appointment. Its too early to judge but I am sure many Spurs supporters were thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread - maybe not so sure now!!

This seems a similar appointment to Mr Gary Monk. Mr Monk is fortunate to be playing WBA at home and he has inherited a pretty good team (hate to admit that!). BUT I predict that by this time next year Swansea Be haunted by relegation woes and Mr Monk and his completely dominant ( :laughing6: :laughing6: ) football will be a thing of the past.

On the other hand OGS has had a tough start but IF we show unity, stick with OGS (and if he sticks with us)..... I think in the longer term City will be on the up! (But is is a big IF).

Wishful thinking.

I feel Swansea will avoid the drop and do us a few favours providing we pick up points.

I hope they win comfortably tomorrow. :thumbright:

Monk has the best points per game ratio than any other Swansea Premier League manager.

Its like saying Messi is good so Welbeck must be too.

They are completely different people.

Makes no difference. The most accurate thing we can go on is judging their complete tenure and not just parts of them, as parts of them can be manipulated. Im going on every game they have ever managed Swansea in the Prem.

Yeah sure. The most accurate thing is 4 PL games vs Laudrups 62 PL games or Rodgers 38
Just think after 1 game Monk was the most successful manager in the history of the game.

After his first 4 PL games wasn't laudrup better than monks first 4?

Absolutely is the most accurate thing. Not sure what can be argued about that.

When has looking at a small piece ever been as accurate as looking at the whole thing.

The fact Monk has only had 4 games is irrelevant, to tomorrow it will be 5, then next week will be 6 and so on and so forth. This comparison doesnt stop after 4 games, it carries on for his Swansea career just like it did with Rodgers and Laudrup.

Depends who is available and his performance from now until then.

I have every faith in him and completely at ease, which is something that couldn't be said under Laudrup and his refusal to tweak obvious tactical errors was baffling.

The only problem with Monk is his contact list is pretty limited, whether the board think this is an issue is another matter.

No shit. It's not irrelevant, how can you compare 4 games against 62 games and expect it to be meaningful?
You've just argued against yourself too with the line I've highlighted.
Your grasp of statistical analysis is a little amateur to say the least

Never mind swansea manager, a win today and monk could be one of the best PL managers of all time

You are talking nonsense carps. Thats not a contradiction in the slightest, 4 games is the whole piece. We are comparing Monks whole Swansea league career with the other two's whole league career - there is no small piece in sight.

Have I once said he is the greatest manager if all time? Have I even critiqued his performance on the back of the stat? No.

When comparing managers in the Premier League then you compare everything you have to go on. When comparing every match every Prem Swans manager has been in charge of - Garry Monk has the highest points oer game ratio.

This is a fact. If you wish to dismiss it then that is your choice, however as many Swans fans will tell you, in the games Monk has taken charge of are some of the best and most consistant displays by a Swansea side possibly in years.

Again you make of that what you will.

The points to game ratio is available after every game it is up to you when you start to agree, but what you have no choice in agreeing to is that if we judge all 3 Swansea Premier League managers careers then Monk has the highest points per game ratio.

That is just something you will have to deal with carps.

He seems to have steadied the ship and comes across well in press conferences but not so sure he will improve and take you forward. Don't really think contacts is much of an issue though with the amount of scouting that goes into players these days.

We don't really have a good scouting network. We haven't since Wigan took our backroom staff.

Since then every manager we had has just cherry picked his former players or ones he is familiar with. Cant even remember the last player we have unearthed through scouting alone.

Any where but here really.

Seriously though, you're lucky enough to live in such a fantastic part of the world, with so much going on and an infinite choice of things to do and places to go.Yet you choose to spend Saturday night on an internet forum of a football team you neither support or even like.

You obviously consider it normal.I would seriously question that. Are you on the Swansea site too?,although that would still be somewhat sad.

Anyway, I was just killing some time on here, but am off out now, as there is plenty to do, even here on a Saturday. Big day of sport here, meeting some friends, meal out few beers, a good social day out. That's what Saturday's are for!

Enjoy the rest of your evening!
