Another player along with Joe Mason not given a chance by Malky, even though others weren't delivering the goods.

Re: Gestede

Thu Mar 13, 2014 6:48 pm

Never given a chance by malky just like many others.

Re: Gestede

Maybe for a Championship club but never top level, I have done that quite a lot at 5 a side its not the hardest thing in the world to do, The kid unfortunately cant shoot, his only game is heading tbh.

Re: Gestede

Thu Mar 13, 2014 6:57 pm

Not given a chance by Malky?

He was good enough to get us over the line when he was playing a lot, good player for that level. Wouldn't last 5 minutes in the Premier league though. If Malky had been using him people would still have a go

Re: Gestede

Thu Mar 13, 2014 6:57 pm

You could see pure talent in him the way he conducted himself in the League Cup final, okay a dreadful penalty may overshadow it but he played the targetman role so well. He had a decent goal tally last season as well as many of his appearances were him coming on as a substitute. A great striker at Champ level, not sure if he'd have helped us now in the Prem but never the less, a good player who was unappreciated just like Mason by the Scottish messiah

He wasn't given a chance because he wasn't good enough.

Malky gave him premiership time, Ole didn't even give him that & sold him straight away....

Sounds like Ole was the one not to give him a chance, not Malky.

Re: Gestede

Thu Mar 13, 2014 7:00 pm

Rudy was ok, prob better than Cornelius but not good enough for this level.

Rudy was loaned out by Malky with a view to a permanet deal. Ole had nothing to do with.

No point arguing some people like to blame MM for a lot, Rudy was bought here to fill spaces when we had 9 players, MM gave him a lot of chances in the Championship to prove him self and rarely shone, MM also gave him a few games in the Prem but to some he never gave him a chance.

Nothing to do with Ole, I said he wasn't a PL footballer, I clearly said he was unappreciated under Malky's tenure here, referring to how he was mistreated in the Champ. Maynard is a good Champ striker but I'm glad Ole got rid

Ole will want to get his own players in, and get rid of the majority of the malky type players.

Malky never gave rudy a sniff, he obviously got talent as hes been slotting them home for blackburn.

When you come in as a new manager you need a proven PL goalscorer, hence why he went to Kenwyne Jones to get goals, not hit the ground running at all but throwing Rudy in would have been a mistake, it wasn't a reference to his time in the Prem, just the two seasons he was here in the Champ, no one can deny Mason hasn't been mistreated

Ole gave him even less of "a sniff".

If they aren't getting games, it's because the manager doesn't think they are good enough. Has Tommy Smith been "mistreated" too?! How about Matt Connelly?

Absolutely laughable. :laughing5:

Have you ever thought Malky pushed Gestede so far down the pecking order in a non scoring team that he found himself happy at Blackburn and wanted to move there? It's not all about the manager you know, maybe Ole reluctantly let him go, players need to be happy

Re: Gestede

Thu Mar 13, 2014 7:09 pm

Rudy joined Blackburn on 26th November on loan with a view to a permanent switch in January.

Rudy completed the move on 2nd Jan

Ole was appointed 2nd Jan

This deal had nothing to do with Ole.

7 goals in 54 appearance's for Cardiff. Malky defiantly never gave him a chance...

Mainly ten minute run outs, malky rarely gave him full games, what do you expect chucking someone on for ten mins here and there, his confidence must of been shot.

Mason was our top goalscorer and more or less got us to the play-offs and put a good showing of himself in the League Cup final. It is being mistreated, look at the way he loaned Kerim Frei yet barely played him due to him not being mathc fit, WELL WHY LOAN HIM MALKY?

Smith is on a healthy wage and was brought here to do a Championship job, he didn't even want to be here, hopefully we release him as he's on 30k a week apparently

It's embarrassing  He didn't want to come here and wanted to stay in London so Malky offered him a big wage he couldn't turn down. Helguson was on a fair bit etc. Absolute joke how we just threw wages about
