After a big win over Fulham , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men now face a tough double-header over the blue and red halves of Merseyside

The win over the Cottagers was only Solskjaer’s second in the league since taking over in the Welsh capital.

Cardiff City rock Ben Turner has issued a Bluebirds war cry, insisting: “We must go to Everton now and get a result!”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men handed themselves a Premier League life-line after beating Fulham 3-1, but now go into a Merseyside double-header still desperately in need of precious points.

They entertain high-flying Liverpool on March 22, but before that, Cardiff head to the blue half of the city this weekend for what looks a tough encounter.

With nine games of the season left, Solskjaer has identified four more wins as the minimum his team needs to save themselves from the drop.

And despite Roberto Martinez’s Toffees lying seventh in the table currently, chasing European football next season, no-nonsense defender Turner insists he and his teammates are going to need to pull off a shock at Goodison Park.

“A lot of people will think this is a game where we cannot get any points, but we absolutely need to go there and get something,” said the 26-year-old centre-half.

“We need a solid foundation to try and stay in the game and get something out of it because if we can go on a good run it could be massive for us.

“It is difficult going up there, they are a very good side in possession and they are very good at making opposition players run.

“They’ve beaten top-four sides this season on a number of occasions which shows how good a side they are.”

The win over the Cottagers was only Solskjaer’s second in the league since taking over in the Welsh capital.

It gave the Bluebirds at least a fighting chance of survival and Turner said the victory would also act as a confidence boost ahead of the trip to Merseyside this weekend.

Turner added: “We can go up to Everton with more confidence than we had this time last week.

“We have a win and some goals and a platform. We needed a result against Fulham, we got it and can take a lot of confidence from it.”

I agree. At this stage of the season we need confidence to be high. For us to remain confident we need continuity and consistency. If we could go to Everton and take home a point, would be massive and would really help the players belief.

This is a key stage of the season where every point is a vital one.

We nearly took a point from spurs, so there's no reason why we can't take atleast 1 of Everton. :ole:

I don't think we need to go to everton and get a result

I think we need to go to everton and put in a good performance , same against Liverpool .

It's the two games straight after which will decide our season , Albion and palace . Win both we will stay up , anything in the next two will just be a bonus :ayatollah:

The danger is at this stage of the season were going to have back to back defeats again. We really need some sort of consistency so we can go into the WBA, palace and stoke games with self belief and confidence which will take some of the pressure and nerves off our players.

Lest hope for a point, though everton is very strong at home.

I dont think we need a point here, but as a bonus it will build more confidence into the team,
Before meeting crystal palace And the albions, who we need 3 points from. :old:
