PETALING JAYA: Tycoon Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s Berjaya Philippines Inc has subscribed to a 50% stake plus one share in the UK-based RBW Holdings Ltd for £50,001 (RM274,645) to take advantage of the real estate opportunities in London.

The indirect subsidiary of Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd, which subscribed to the stake on March 6, would pay £1 per share cash for 50,001 shares in RBW.

It has also extended a loan of £300,000 (RM1.65mil) to RBW.

According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, all other RBW shareholders also provided loans in proportion to their respective shareholdings.

RBW was set up to acquire and develop real estate in the United Kingdom, particularly London.

Berjaya Philippines’ corporate secretary Jose Bernas told an online portal based in the Philippines that the company was looking for investments in line with its diversification plan.
