Best if we go down IMO

Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:35 pm

Hate to say it and im going to get a lot of abuse but im going to look at the bigger picture here.
To me it has always been Blue before the Prem and if we are to get our identity back then I feel we will have to go down and maybe even stay down to achieve this. The worst thing to happen is we stay up and Tan and his cronies will bring even further re branding.
I think more of our club to put success before the greater good of our club. Its the way i feel that i just cant enjoy this campaign whilst not having our correct colours and badge.

Neither scenario will result in us getting colours back

I think he'll be gone if we go down. I seen him look towards the Canton when we sang about him so he's obviously finding it hard to ignore it. Maybe the booing yesterday and the Liverpool protest will send him over the edge

Are you serious? He was loving it! He came onto the pitch after you sung about him and then wandered around outside the front after full time. He loves the attention good or bad. He will only leave if a buyer comes in and on his terms.

Re: Best if we go down IMO

Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:51 pm

Why is relegation more likely to mean the colour changes back. We were red before we went up ?

IMHO it won't help - in fact,if you think the best chance to change is for Tan to leave then we are better off staying up as there will be far more buyers for a Prem club.

I've heard a few come up with this statement, but no-one can back it up with any logic.

Re: Best if we go down IMO

Sun Mar 09, 2014 4:55 pm

To get the revenue that Tan wants and that is the only thing he is interested in. And even the float to go ahead we need to be in the Prem. Tan wont make any money or no one from Asia will be interested in us whilst we are in the Championship.

You are not supporting the team, and want Them to go down.
All you care you Could play in 2 nd league if you were just blue.
No footballfan, just hate and politics.
Shame on you.

Yes I'm serious. He knows exactly what he's doing. He knows the majority of fans hate him so he's just doing it to wind us up, provoking the boos and the chants just so he has something to whine to his followers about.

I do believe he enjoys it. But what he doesn't enjoy is not making money. Now if you love him so much just apologise to him and lick his rim

Re: Best if we go down IMO

My worry is if we go down and force Tan out will we stay in the championship or end up a complete basket case like Portsmouth, having to sell our promising youngsters every window just to service our debt(sound familiar)

Tan has backed himself into a corner, his only option is turn us back to blue we cant carry on much longer like this

Nukes you are dead right. For a start the championship does not attract the exposure that Tan needs for his rebrand to even have a sniff of getting attention. Also when Tan brings in his high powered friends somehow watching us play Huddersfield hardly has the prestige attached to it that would entice someone like the Malaysian prime minister to fly halfway around the world to watch us. I am convinced that unless we bounce straight back then he will get bored with us which is not a bad thing. Before all the idiots start telling us we will end up red or dead again I will say that Tan can no longer walk away without selling us because in no way would be prepared to lose that amount of money plus losing face and denting his fragile ego.

Best we stay up.

Best us fans start to demonstrate against Tan. No more sitting on the fence.

Tan will then go.

just curious if we are not in premier tan wont get buyer or at least harder to get one! and he wont walk away (your words) how does he leave and not lose money if we are in champ?? and if he gets bored with being in champ what does he do?? not enough assets to pay him off, really am curious  and no its not red or dead now!!!

If that's what you think you are deluded, Tan doesn't give a s**t about what the fans think that was why he done what he done after the game, he was on a wind up and it worked. tan is here to stay for a while yet as I have said many times there are plans in place if we stay up or go down, tan doesn't want out just yet no matter what some say on here maybe wishful thinking

So how does that get the blue kit back ?

Seems to me your idea is more motivated on wanting to see Tan fail - and I can see why some people could see it that way. rather than looking at 'the bigger picture' you are looking at a very narrow one. As usual the situation is far more complicated than it looks.

We were in the Championship for the first years of his ownership, only this time it's better for him as the club will get £60m of parachute money and has a stack of valuable players. He might stay until we get back up, as only then will he be able to sell the club on at a profit - which will be his main motivation.

Re: Best if we go down IMO

Sun Mar 09, 2014 6:47 pm

Silly thread as who in their right minds is going to buy us in the Championship with the huge amount of debt saddled to us? Tan will want his money back and will not sell on the cheap, we are far more marketable in the Premier league.

Exactly but some posters repeatedly make out they feel compelled to "falling on their sword" because of their love for Cardiff City due to their anti Tan/rebrand issues when the fact is all they really want to do is reel off quips to fuel their masked agendas without excepting 99.9% of City fans desperately wants us to stay in the Premiership, I find it amazing reading what goes on in the heads of the minority of so called City fans who still have BIG FISH IN SMALL POOL SYNDROME! .

You are forgetting that we found our buyers when we were in the championship so its not impossible to find another is it? Tan would have to sell us if he wanted out so we would be guaranteed a new owner. If Tan loses money then that's not our concern and would be justice in my opinion for him acting like a prat.

Again you don't know what either scenario would bring but if by some miracle you do then you can give me the lottery numbers at the same time.

Who is going to buy a championship club thats £100m in debt and only solvent due to a previous owner pumping money in?

But it won't be debt though so your beloved Tan might have to make a bit of a loss when he sells up.
