Blue flag yesterday.

Sun Mar 09, 2014 3:32 pm

Hi, I'm new to this board but just wanted to join so as to get people's opinions on this... I attended yesterday's game with my five year old son (I've been a season ticket holder for a number of years, my boy has recently started coming). He wanted to take his big blue and white City flag to wave (it's one of the flags that were handed out to us a few years ago - think it was at one of the play-off semis). Anyway, a steward stopped me when we were on our way to our seats and asked "didn't anyone try to stop you with that?". I questioned as to why they would stop me and he reply was "we've been told to clamp down today on blue flags. Just don't fly it too high, ok?" Needless to say I was not too impressed (!) so flew it even higher than I would have done! Has anyone else been told anything similar?

My boy takes his blue flag every game, We have only been stopped once and that was the day of the protest to make sure nothing offensive was written on it. Wave it high every game and never been approached by a steward.

Ahh right, yes I can understand that. Was starting to worry that blue had suddenly become too offensive to be seen! I will continue flying it high and proud then! :-)
