Finnbogason

After watching his performance tonight, does anyone still think he would be a bargain at 7-8 million and would score hatful's of goals for us?

He looked sharp to me, didn't really get much of a chance Wales were to good for them.

First time I've really seen him play properly and to be honest I wasn't that impressed I was expecting a lot more .

Agreed. I would put him more in the Afonso Alves category than the Ruud Van Nistlerooy category, although I appreciate it's harsh for me to judge him just on tonights game.

True it was only a friendly , I'm sure he has a lot more to offer . The problem with judging a player like him is you just don't see enough of him unless you watch the Dutch league . We seem to have a fan base who watch it religiously here though seeing as everybody rates him

People just look at his goalscoring record and his youtube footage and think he's the best thing since sliced bread. He seemed to lack pace and power to me tonight, which makes me think he wouldn't be suited to the British game.

Plenty of British talent for less which could do a job. Yet again our fans want some foreign guy who they think will turn out to the next Henrik Larsson.

Scandinavia is not a hot bed of footballing talent.

We've made mistakes with strikers in the past, why make another risk?. I'd rather we went down and bought someone like Sam Vokes or Gary Hooper (missed a trick).

If we go down though, partner Fraizer, if he stays, with Nicky Maynard. Formidable championship strike force.

Maybe thats why malky tried to sign him because he watched his youtube video like he did with cornelius

You can't read too much into the game as it was only a friendly. If there had been anything on it Bale would not have had such an easy ride.A game that will be quickly forgotten in the grand scheme of things.
