Oscar Pistorius

Not Cardiff City related but who's following the Oscar Pistorius murder trial? It's tense and dramatic to say the least, I don't know what the court will believe!

I can see him getting off with it. He'd be banged to rights if it was this country, but he's a national icon over there, and no doubt the jury has been hand picked in his favour. Also with the amount of violent crimes committed over there, the "paranoia" excuse will probably pay off for him

Is there a link which has good updates etc. I can follow ?

No jury just a judge decides

One man decides over there. It's laughable that they sent his iPhone off to Apple because he said he couldn't recall the 4 did hit pin, he is guilty as hell i reckon I hope he goes down forever.

I think he intentionally done it, but the judge has to be 100% sure he intended to do it. He could well walk

These supposed witnesses hearing the noises are a waste of time, the distance between their houses is a fair bit.

Not quite true

Trial judge Thokozile Masipa, who will decide the verdict in the Pistorius case, will be assisted by two assessors. "often highly experienced people, often retired regional court magistrates who have dealt their whole professional lives with criminal cases, and are very astute in assessing probabilities, in judging credibility of witnesses and in applying the criminal procedure act."

South Africa abolished the jury system in 1969 following arguments that whites-only juries during apartheid would be unlikely to deliver fair verdicts involving, for example, a white perpetrator and a black victim.

Ahh right, I didn't realise they didn't have jury's over there.interesting fact that is mate, about the reason why they abolished juries :ayatollah:

Guilty as sin. Some might say he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Truth is we will never know what really happened.

If you heard a noise in the middle of the night while you are in bed the first thing you would do is check to see if your partner was still in bed.

Hes guilty as f**k!!!

Adam I think he is guilty aswell but a murder case is not based on assumptions. ;)

Again I say the truth is we will never know what really happened.

We will just see the opinions and assumptions of others take on the event.

Agreed but surely the first thing you would do if you heard a noise in the middle of the night is to ask your partner if they heard it as well..?

Especially IF, when he hears a noise in a toilet behind a closed door he is then going to blast 4 bullets through the door.

His thoughts, "I know, I'll let her sleep while there is a suspected burglar in the house AND she probably won't wake up with the noise of bullets being fired".

Sadly for Reeva, she will never wake up.
