El Pitbull????

Tue Mar 04, 2014 5:03 pm

Interesting article on Sky Sports Football giving statistics relating to tackles etc. Apparently, Cardiff players have made the lowest number of tackles of any club in the top flight. They also have the lowest number of bookings and no sendings off, suggesting that they have the least commitment and fight.
I thought El Pitbull was supposed to be a fierce tackler, but from the limited number of times I've seen him play I don't think he got close enough to any player to make a tackle.
"Going down with a whimper" was, I believe, the title of the article

shows your knowledge of football! just because he doesnt make lots tackle doesnt mean he is not effective in what he does namely break up attacks intercepting play! just because your side makes 99k passes a game doesnt mean they are barcelona? :laughing5: :laughing5:

He doesn't get close enough to players? Did you not see the game at our place earlier in the season? He was the best player on the pitch - he was cleaning everything up!

you don't have to go tearing in to tackles all the time, if you have a footballing brain like el pitbull you can simply cut out the pass before it reaches the intended player...

Ccfc are too nice! Most premier teams make fouls to break up counter attacks etc and take bookings for doing so. Watching hull last week they broke up lots of our counter attacks with fouls so that they could regroup. We need to develop a mean streak.

Exactly the point, Gazza. Most of the numpties on here are far too obsessed with dishing out childish abuse to realise the truth in what's written. Just because it's written by a Jack doesn't mean that it's incorrect or a wind up.
You hit the nail on the head. The situation you're in is a "battle" and a "dogfight" and the mean streak could be what you're missing.

We were top of the fair play league under Malky and I would guess we also had the lowest amount of tackles, yellows and red cards under him in the league. I wouldn't say that team lacked fight though, everybody worked their socks off for us and each other.

Although under OGS you may be right.. We don't seem to have that ethic!

We just stand off constantly allow pressure, probably why we concede too many because we allow the opposition to run at us without putting a foot in.

Cheers. The premier league is very cynical. So much goes on off the ball. As for holding in penalty box skertel committed god knows how many fouls before he was finally punished against you lot. I mentioned hull but compared to Norwich they were clean. I think they call it premier league know how. It's crude giving away fouls but it is an effective way of playing as it gives teams the opportunity to reorganise.

As must yours be of you, obsessively researching the internet for snippets about a club that you dont even support, then taking time to post them on that clubs forum. Where you have spent hours of your empty, miserable life.
Which proves you were right. My comment was indeed erudite.

The amount of ground he covers, I'm not surprised he gets cramp, he works his arse off fair play.

Que some selective stat about a Swansea player running more in a game :sleepy2:
