Money talks?

Tue Mar 04, 2014 10:10 am

Whoever says its a stupid way of getting them to play better and try to keep Cardiff in this division seriously need to rethink about it!

Money is a massive incentive to any one, i said the other week that tan should offer a big bonus between the squad and i could guarantee they would play better and things would improve!

If it is true he said it before tottenham look how well they played, money makes the world go round if someone gave you a task in work and they said complete this by the end of the week for a big bonus you would alot harder than you normally do!

If it is true i seriously think things will improve and we will see alot more improved performances, wether if will be enough to keep us up.. only god knows! :ayatollah:

It's not black mailing. It is an incentive to work harder and keep the club up.

The point is, why would they believe him after last year.

This bonus just makes it look like Ole can't motivate the team. It has more negatives than positives.

If we stay up then surely it's more positives....

By the reaction and performance vs Spurs it seems to have had a positive spin. Let's see how long that lasts.

The players are highly paid pro's who shouldnt need any motivation given our current situation. Any top sportsman should be able to self motivate. If they cant then I dont want them here. Managers are for tactics and picking team.

an extra bonus for hard work is always a good thing espcially if it works if it doesnt then the players dont get paid if it does we get another season in the prem while the players get a nice bonus happy days

You are correct in suggesting that the best kind of motivation comes from within. However, to suggest it isn't a managers role to keep his players focused and motivated is stupid. It's entirely the managers role. If youre playing football for a manager you don't believe in or trust you won't be motivated to perform for him. If you have somebody who doesn't show respect and speaks down on you, you won't be motivated to perform for them.

The manager has the responsibility to remind the players of why they play football, especially in a dog fight when moral will be low. He has the responsibility to learn what motivates his team, as every individual is motivated by different things in order to get the best out of each individual.

it was regard to the comment about being highly paid it doesnt matter cause money is money and if someone offers you approx £150k in your bank to achieve something you will try very hard

never stated otherwise but my comment about being highly paid professionals has no bearing on them being offered more money.

Do you recon Bellamy would suddenly become massively motivated by Tan offering him a few quid?. I highly doubt it.

People like Fraizer, Hudson, Taylor, Marshall, Bellamy, Noone, Aron G, Turner etc, I think would feel insulted by the offer after how they performed for the club last year.

Money is not that important to alot of players, such as the above as I think they have more respect for Cardiff than to just earn a few extra pounds.

Tan shouldn't be in the dressing room. He is not respected. Maybe the new guys will care about £££££££££££ but for me, the older Cardiff players will care more.

alot of players are very very greedy and it doesnt matter greedy or not if you got offered £150k regardless how much you were worth to do something you love but try a bit harder surely you would

Footballers have a very short career and like to make as much money possible whilst they are employed so they are able to invest somewhere else or save so they can retire at the end of their careers. Hence why we're seeing people take payments for yellow cards etc. just because someone has lots of money doesn't mean they aren't motivated by more money - look at drug cartels. They don't stop when they have made their first billion...
