I went to spurs today and I have to say Fabio played brilliant as a wingback. Our fans are so fickle and just look to blame certain players, as with Whitts and Zaha. These players need supporting not being booed and shouted obscenities at all game. Then on the other hand we all rave about Daehli and when he loses the ball we say unlucky and talk about how good he is, if Zaha does the same he's shit and a waste of space.

In all honesty Fabio is not a full back of premier league quality . He gets beat way too easily , is constantly out of position and lets too many balls into the box .
In fairness he is decent going forward and getting down the line . Maybe he is more suited to a winger role rather than a full back role .
You say you went to spurs but when you see the game back on tv watch him specifically , he fell over his own feet twice , lost the ball in dangerous positions a few times and the time he tried to call the ball out of play with adebayor when it was blatantly in and left our defence open was nothing short of schoolboy .
He needs to learn to play to the whistle and quickly .
He was poor to average today and is certainly no better than mcnaughton or Theopile IMO .

I think Fabio's biggest problem is a confidence issue caused by being really fragile fitness wise. If he gets a run of games without the niggling injuries he seems to pick up every match then we might see a very good player. He's not a natural defender yhough, more suited to the wing back role with 3 center backs.

He could be a decent wingback I don't see how he can be played at fullback though.

I saw John being passed several times and almost making a penalty, Turner missing a crucial header and being rounded just outside the box, Medel making a blunder pass. From Fabio a few sloppy involvements, but no major mistakes. If he can stay injury free, he would just steadily improve I guess.

Fully agree and believe he was bought more as a wingback by Ole who likes his fullbacks to push forward from his time in Norway. I think Ole has found that its impossible to play with 2 wingers and 2 wingbacks in the Premiership and will now hopefully play the remainder of the season with the 3 centre backs and two wingbacks which allows us to play with more men in the middle of the pitch. The problem is though were does that leave Zaha and Noone

Tbh at home I'd risk noone at fullback.

Listened to the game and fabio seemed to have his best game for us was mentioned a hell of a lot and psycho sung his praises more so in attack. that's the problem nowadays you have left or right backs who can't defend but are good going forward. Call me old fashioned but i like my defensive unit to defend first then attack second. Super kev for me every time.
