' MUCH BETTER BUT STILL NO POINTS TO SHOW FOR IT '

Today was probably the best we have played under Solksjaer, he went with the 5-3-2 and we looked more solid than we have in previous games under him.

That said we didn't pick up any points and that is what ultimately matters but we were playing a side who got real ambition of finishing in the top four.

I am judging today on the last performance and that was far better, Medel was instrumental in breaking up Spurs attacking play and the three centre halves worked for me and it is something I would hope Ole goes with in the final ten games.

I didn't expect anything from today and any point would have been a bonus but it wasn't to be and I am not too disappointed because my expectations were not that high.

We must beat Fulham at home next week to give us any chance of avoiding the drop and our support needs to replicate what we were like today, the support for the team was excellent and there was unity that has been missing previously.

Strangely I feel optimistic today even though we didn't earn a point but there were huge improvements. We didn't create a glut full of chances but we were definitely more organised than in previous games.

Maybe just maybe we will see an upturn in results, starting with the hone match versus Fulham next week but my opinion to City fans is that City played with more desire, better shape and looked far more organised than we have in recent games.

Yeah defiantly looked more of a team today I think if mutch was fit enough to start instead of maybe Gunnerson we would have looked more potent going forward, 3 points against Fulham will give much needed confidence (and points)

Completely agree with you Carl, I liked the way we were set up today.
Kim disappoints me though, he gets pushed off the the ball to Much he needs to toughen up a bit.
Maybe a few nights out in Merthyr might get him on track. :ayatollah:

Only West Ham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Man City have won at the Lane this season, none being under Sherwood too

Agree, but please get rid of Fabio and Kim. Terrible football players. Just awful.

Most of the bottom half of the PL are average at best but we are going to run out of games before things start clicking for Ole. To be as bad as we've been yet to be only a few wins away from mid table is frustrating as through a variety of factors we've pretty much self destructed this season.

It's no good saying we were better and shouldn't expect to get something at Spurs - the reality is only on a couple of occasions did we even come close to scoring... The lack of goals over the past games is ridiculously bad for this level of football.

I was hoping for a point but more than anything just a performance we could be proud of, we need points but at least this was a step in the right direction for Ole in finding the balance of what he wants.

I feel for him as he walked in and wants to implement his plans but he needs to find the right formation that suits the current players we have.. hence the rotation.

In terms of using our fullbacks to their best ability he has done well today.

Happy with the performance has resorted some optimism. Sadly we don't have anyone capable of scoring goals, after all the money we've spent and to have no goalscorer is poor.

I hope Ole uses this as a platform for an absolute must win next week. He should stick with the 5-3-2 but it does ask the question what happens to Noone (one of our best players this season) and Zaha? Neither can play at wing back or in centre midfield.

After just speaking to u on the ph Carl, u sounded very positive about today's performance, my answer to you was , Ole raisies his game against better oponents and u replied it was Oles formation that impressed u.

So lets hope Ole keeps this formation for Fulham home and Everton away.

If we can't beat Fulham next Saturday, we may as well said a supporters team out for the rest of the season.

I was happy with the performance today and we actually looked more organised than we have done, however, we look totally lacking in any confidence up front, which could ultimately prove our downfall. Two other points, WHL was like a library, the home supporters sung just after they scored for a couple of minutes and that was it, very, very poor. Secondly, I didn't see one Red shirt or Scarf worn by any of our lot

Great performance but no matter how well you play you ain't going to win games, which we are going to need to do in 5 of the 10 remaining games, when you have no natural goalscorers in the side. We have failed to score in 16 out of 28 games which just isn't good enough

Ole has made mistakes and some of his tinkering as been a little strange. The lack of a quality goalscorer is something he inherited we didn't score a vast amount for a championship winning team strikers that is and this was never sorted in the pre season. Hopefully he can stick with this formation as listening to the game we seemed to be competitive and a lot more organised

Good tactics at the Lane, but lacking some quality in the front, so no goals. You dont Get points if you cant score goals.

Campell Seems like he is almost doing good things, but then he always fall over!
Kim was no good and the iceland guy was no good, must find better players There.
Medel was great, and marshall excellent.
The fullbacks are a problem, easy to pass. Fabio attacks, but go slowly back, not at all acceptable on this level.
John is easy to pass,and
Jones was no threat whatsoever.
Why not try Dæhli and Bellemy together upfront? City needs goals.

Caulker should have scored, but hit the wood, unfortunately. What about Noone? City needs him.

Fulham is playing worse than city these days, 3points coming if we manage to score goals!
