A couple of strikers next season

Sun Mar 02, 2014 6:47 pm

And regardless what league we are in we will have a good squad. I can see the way we are setting out to play that Ole is getting us to play better football we are just short of quality upfront..
Give the man time In Ole i believe :ole: :laughing6: :ayatollah:

His club did not want to let him leave. And I think it's pretty obvious why the boat wasnt pushed out, Tan had tightened his wallet up.

Our strikers will be fine for the Champ.

Campbell, Maynard, Jones and Guerra is a choice most championship sides would dream of.

Just got to make sure we spend all of next season scouting for a decent prem striker.

How many years have you been promoting this guy now TopCat  Seriously has to be one of the best strikers so far untested in the Premier and at 24 has to be a better bet than Cornelius was to do well in the top flight

Both Holt and Lambert stepped up in their first season in the premier league from the championship.
Questioned why we spent the money on Cornelius at the time, when we could have got Rhodes at the same price.
If/when things come out we might know more - Total respect for MM - But this was his darkest moment ( IMO ) :(

Just wonder if we will go for another striker next year when we will have 3 decent championship strikers in Campbell, Maynard and Jones plus hopefully one very good one in Guerra. I suspect we have missed the boat with regards to Rhodes as there is no doubt he will be playing in the Premiership next season

I agree with Jinks, a quality strike and this team would come straight back up  but are they all prepared to stay with us if we are relegated? Personally I believe if they take us down, they should take responsibility and stay with us to battle back up, but that does not happen in this day and age, to many jump ship.

 spot-on mate! PL football & Championship football completely different. Campbell will be one the best in that league

We would have to replace a lot of the team in my opinion because the likes of Caulker, Medal and Mutch will move on. Don't think it will be as simple as many make out.

Campbell will do the job without a doubt  but Kenwyne Jones, he blows hot and cold and is lazy Hmm

not so sure about Mutch tbh, it is possible a PL club will come, but alot of teams will look at their midfield and ask if Mutch is of the significant improvement they are looking for. There will only be a few PL teams who will answer 'yes'

I believe Tan will think that and unless a stupid offer comes in he will make them all honour their contracts.

Its clear that we will be playing 2-up-front for most matches next season, if we are to outscore the opposition to win matches we need the firepower! 4 quality strikers in the squad will be alot of fun next year Annis, is Jones quality? jury is still out on that for a verdict :ayatollah:

Thomas, if we have 4 quality strikers next season, it certainly will be an exciting season to look forward to  :ayatollah:

I believe it's down to the manager and the chat he has with the squad and what they think of him.
If the likes of medel , marshall stay then hopefully others won't jump ship and be up for the challenge..
Under Ole i believe next season will be the best in years regardless of what division we are in. :ayatollah:

Totally agree, though we may not even need strikers as Campbell is a great striker at Champ level and I hope to see Joe Mason back in the first team. With Javi Guerra as well, we may not need to sign anyone new.

That's bollocks,

The club were willing to pay £5m for him or his release clause, he wanted to stay as he has stated before.
