If Tan does leave and he sells any assets?

Sat Mar 01, 2014 11:45 pm

What will happen to the stadium?
Where would we play?
Could Tan basically close us down and end cardiff city full stop?
Could it get so bad that we could end up joining the welsh premier league or could we just drop to the conference or lower?

As 90% shareholder /owner he could do what he wants technicaly he could fold CCfc holdings at any time but can't see that

So who actually owns it? Nice to hear it can't be sold but does it stop us from getting thrown out of there?

The clause is a charge can't be placed on it for a mortgage and it can't be used for anything other than a sports venue but if tan folded the club it would matter would it ? Just be left empty untill some other team took over it or the council decided to knock it down ,none of the above I can see happening tho

Its owned by the club but in my understanding at the time the council were so concerned that the club may go bust at the time that they ensured that clauses were in place to help protect football in the city. Ive had a few now but I'm sure that was the case.

Which backs mypoint that the Councilput a clause in the agreement so protect football in the City whether that was with the present club or a new club

Don't quote me on it but I think it was only stated 'Any sport' because at the time the Cardiff Blues were also based at CCS. When I was in Merthyr Council they did ask both Cardiff and Swansea councils for advice on agreements with their local football and rugby clubs because they were thinking of putting a similar agreement in place if they were to build obviously a much smaller ground to hold both Merthyr FC and rugby clubs.

clause was basically to stop sam selling ground like what happened at wimbledon! if tan left us in learch ground will be still used by club not like coventry who had to leave theirs, our club actually owns ground hence will still be able to use it! but the covenant by council means it cannot be sold , what would happen if this was challenged god knows :!:
