Joe Mason - whats gone wrong?

I just cant understand whats happened here.

One of Malky's first signings and I thought the lad was a gem, who can forget the moment he put us 1 up against Liverpool.

A regular in the championship and then seemingly bombed out.. classed as not good enough for the step up? can't see that
as never given a chance. From 2011/12 and 2012/13 he played 75 games scoring 18 goals and then gone. out. like he was never there.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever.. just gone back out to Bolton on loan and scored on his debut. Surely to god he is the type
of player we should be throwing in yet he hasn't made a single premier league start.

Anyone got any inside info on this? maybe something gone on behind the scenes?

Don't understand why he was never involved at all? Thought he was make a good bench player. Better than Maynard IMO

Really like Joe. I'd had liked to seen him come off the bench for Campbell in the last 10 minutes. Fraizer runs his bollocks off all the time and wears defenders out, Mason would benefit from that and score goals.

Probably the best finisher we've got in our squad as well. Some of his finishes are brilliant. I.e vs Liverpool, and Blackburn home and away last year

The biggest problem with joe is that work on his strength and conditioning is needed.The lad has great footballing ability and to me is one of our best finishers.If he could just get a bit physically stronger on the ball I believe he could be a regular starter for us and a great asset.

I feel sorry for him, some strange things happen at Cardiff City

Filip Kiss, Kadeem Harris, I am not having a go at Malky, but they are all his signings.

I hate Tan, but you have to ask the questions, did Malky lose the plot?

that is a very good shout mate and maybe that is OGS's thinking, I had never looked at it like that but
you could be on to something there.

I would still like to know what went wrong under MM though for him to be bombed like he was

They got threw away for talents such as Helguson, Smith and that etc. Harris never got a chance, yet Lawrence got brought in when we could have clearly given Harris a go. It's very questionable

To be fair mate, I get what your saying, they brought players like Helguson and Smith and even Lawrence to get us up over Harris, but Malky played Mason, he played 28 games for us and then he bombed him.. its weird and I have
to be honest its one of the reasons I turned on Malky.

Massively overrated. Miller's brilliant movement made him look better.

I just think that Joe had everything but that initial 5 yards of acceleration.

Unfortunately in the Prem unless you are 6 foot plus a forward has to have that burning pace over the first 5 yards. He doesn't and therefore the Championship is about his level much as I'd love it to be different.

Joe has refused to play for City because of the rebrand. Come on, have u ever seen him in a red shirt?

Offers more than Maynard judging the state Maynard is in. But looks like he is getting goals but his fitness and shape looks abysmal.

Irrespective of who was manager Cardiff City would now be better off if Mason has played the last two seasons at a club who wanted to play him. Who was manager doesn't bother me, the fact he has next to no game time in two season even if you pro malky comments do.

He played 28 games last season mate 27 of which were in the league, that is hardly rare, I think you both agree though as do I that Joe needs games and lets just hope he gets them and Ole see's his potential

28 games yes but that's out of 46 league games and how many Cup games? And how many of those were starts?
How many minutes on the pitch this season?

He simply hasn't had anywhere near enough starts in the last 2 years and because of that he isn't near the first 11 sadly. He has wasted 2 years of his career now and may never catch up.
