Attendance = Support for Tan

Fri Feb 28, 2014 6:08 pm

This 90% figure he has bandied about is true. I have always maintained that if you go you are financially backing the red and in TANS EYES, including me. His latest comments prove me to be right. The only way he will leave is if we all stop going and boycott.

Red, blue or whatever you are if you have renewed for next year Tan will see that as us all being happy, paying customers to his brand. Can't dress it up any other way now.

I thought of walking away, but if the BLUE had, we would now not have a BLUE home and away following and our identity would of been lost forever.

I know us wearing BLUE at every home and away game gets to Tan and makes him look the Clown to the World.

Annis he does look like a fool but that won't move him on, his latest comments show he doesn't really care what we wear, as long as we are there. Any road, he only goes to the big games nowadays, if we go down he will be down once or twice a season to see it. We must all pull out as a fanbase sooner rather than later.

You will never win with a boycott as we are now in the minority, when a large percentage of the current
matchday crowd are there for premiership football alone it wont work as your place will just be taken
by someone who wants to watch, Spurs, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea........

No Premier League Team is EVER going to get a boycott of a home game due to the floaters, plastics, glory supporters
call them whatever you will wanting to go.

Tan has got it all wrong, he doesn't understand the dynamics of Football Clubs, especially small ones like ours.

Its all rosey in his garden because he took us up, he doesn't have a clue about history and the only way to make the man see
sense is back to back relegations which is when he will see his so called '90%' who support him evaporate before his very sunray protected eyes as the only thing they support is Premier League Football, not him, Cardiff City or anything else.

Well he wont get another penny off me. After watching City for 40 years thats it for me. Tan can shove his ideas up his ass.
Gutted not to be going next season but I've had enough. I didnt like the rebrand and opposed it as much as I could but no more.......I cant watch them in red with that badge any more.
Cheers Tan.

Agree with RV Casual's post. Organising a boycott this year wouldn't work due to the people who are bursting to watch Premiership football.

Should we be relegated, it would be better to organise a boycott and protest against someone like Blackpool, Ipswich, Huddersfield etc. not exactly glamorous teams which some people wouldn't mind missing. Then we can all go into Canton and get pissed come 3 o'clock

I have to agree with the OP on this, however hard that may be. I think it would be a good idea to boycott some Championship matches next year as there won't be so many plastics out to take pics on their i-phones of Wayne Rooney etc.

As you know I do not support Vincent Tan. But I still go. Now I have supported this Club for 40 years and I will be damned if I will walk away so I dont upset some glory hunting supporters. I will oppose him in the ground like I always do and Tan hates that. And if it upsets the glory fan !! Well I couldn't give two fooks.
Cheers old fella

I have seen his comments in full now Steve and I just can't see him ever turning us back to blue, he even said he wouldn't under his ownership. No glory supporters will replace us if we go down.

So I guess you haven't been to a single game this season then. Or if people do go along with your plan you won't go to anymore

No we wont under his dictatorship Chief. But at least with us in the Championship it will piss him off and any further rebranding will hopefully be halted.

Spot on.
I didn't want to renew if I'm honest but pressure from friends meant I have but this is my last season now.
Not because of the rebrand but fake fans thinking they are something they are not.

Re: Attendance = Support for Tan

Bollocks. By attending we are supporting the club, that doesn't mean that we support Tan, the rebrand or every decision that the club makes. In Tan's eyes he sees it as supporting him, but as the whole world knows Tan is an idiot, and only idiots agree with idiots.

Is this the little boy who says he is against modern football despite being 16 at most and then claims to be against the rebrand and then buys the kit with the new badge on it.

Honestly laughable.

Slight exaggeration there. :laughing6:

First of all, please show me where I've stated I'm "against modern football". :laughing5:

As I've pointed out to users many times, I don't claim to be against the "rebrand", I claim to be against the red. The badge change hasn't bothered me that much, I prefer the old badge but I'm not totally against it. If we called it a rebrand every time this football club changed it's badge then that would mean we've rebranded around 13 times. So you can rephrase your statement a bit there. "The kit" would suggest the red kit which fans are bothered about, I don't buy that kit, I buy the blue kit. Yes it has the new badge on it, but badges change as ALL clubs over the years. The only thing that shouldn't change are the club colours and the name in my opinion.

Oh and I'm 20 this year.

once upon a time i watched my very first match,as did everyone..........was i a plastic, and at what point do you cease to be a plastic?
we have had over 17,000 ST holders for 5 seasons now. or is being a plastic nothing to do with watching games?

I'm guessing you agree with me when i say if people boycott games they're actually hurting the club financially, not Tan, boycotting won't do anything to Tan financially it will just hurt the club financially
