nothing to do with effort, its the lack of quality in squad. If you played and tried 100% you still would be shite!!!!!!! Quality is the issue!!!!!

Cardiff's relegation-threatened squad slammed by boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during crisis meeting

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got tough with his Cardiff flops and demanded a response this weekend.

The Welsh club’s baby-faced boss called an early-morning team meeting this week to set out his demands.

A 4-0 home loss against Hull - who finished eight points behind the Bluebirds last season as Championship runners-up - last weekend has left Cardiff three points adrift of safety ahead of Sunday’s difficult trip to Tottenham.

Struggling City have only won one of seven Premier League games under new manager Solskjaer, conceding 17 goals in the process.

Solskjaer told his Cardiff players he expects them to defend much better as a unit, and has been experimenting with a different formation in training this week.

He delivered a sobering assessment of his squad’s shortcomings and prospects on Tuesday morning in a 30-minute debriefing before training.

The former Manchester United striker - who quit as boss of Norwegian side Molde to join Cardiff in January - also cancelled a warm-weather training trip to Abu Dhabi planned for this week, which had cost £100,000.

It followed Saturday’s embarrassing loss to Hull which sparked a furious changing-room dressing down of his side from Solskjaer, in front of Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman.
Solskjaer showed his fierce side by “tearing paint off the walls” after the match, which has left the club in serious danger of relegation.

But Cardiff’s owners insist they are in full support of Solskjaer, and are prepared to stick with him - even if they go back down to the Championship.
