A solid Cardiff team with £40mil to spend

Marshall:
What a fantastic keeper. City fans love him & has been awesome this season.

McNaughton:
Give the guy a chance ffs! He would of been solid so I spent money in other areas. Plus he deserved his chance.

Turner:
Done excellent last year. Still young for a CB & his actuall defending is of a high quality.

Hudson:
Club captain, might not be the best CB in PL but at least he can organise the defence & deserved his chance in PL

Erik Pieters £3.6mil:
A right steady eddy at LB with a good pedigree. We could of bought him ahead of Stoke City. With hindsight this was the most worrying area where teams got at us.

Gary Medel £11mil
Great signing, works hard, great technique & I have partnered him with someone he would of loved playing with.

Kevin Strootman £16.5mil
The most ambitious signing in the history of Cardiff City. Labelled the 'Dutch Roy Keane' this guy has everything. This would of been a double swoop on PSV Eindhoven for Pieters & Strootman. We would of been competeing with AS Roma who won the race for him. We could of done a deal with him to say give us 1 year with us & we'll sell you next summer to Man Utd et al.

Don Cowie:
Workaholic, I am filling this team with grafters.

Craig Bellamy:
Ole is right to play him in his most effective position of AMC/FC. I would want him to keep grafting down the left in this team though. Any injuries to Huddlestone he is a ready made replacement.

Tom Huddlestone £6mil:
Amazing vision of pass, he would of been great for us this year. Playing quality balls ahead of his now teammate Long to chase. Finding the run of Bellamy down the left flank.

Shane Long £6mil
Industrious/workaholic striker who would of suited a pressing game we should employ.

Summary
This team would of worked it's socks off. Has a weakness in the CB areas but it would be hard to fix everything with £40mil. The midfield area is fantastic with the threesome I 'bought'

Shane Long would of been a great asset to the team. Campbell coming on for him this team is all about energy apart from Hudds who was bought to create.

Overall spend: £42.1Mil, sorry VT i'll get my coat :laughing6:

He thinks Cowie is premier league class!! Must be good shit you're smoking fella, he can run around for 90 minutes and that's it. He's f*cking crap with the ball at his feet. Hudson and Turner as our CB pairing?  it's f*cking leaky enough as it is. Super Kev is a legend but is not primer league quality.

Not saying it solves all the problems a new PL team faces. But at least they know each other's game, with bags of quality from the newbies. I only used one who is fairly unrealistic...your turn! pick a better team with £40mil budget from the players that moved last summer ;) this thread is a bit of fun

Hehehe, I would be under budget signing Caulker. I could keep my job! :ayatollah:

My priority would have been a defensive midfielder, someone like Wanyama at Celtic or the Chile player Medel or maybe Tom Huddlestone might be able to do the job.

Then I'd want a centre back because I would have been worried Hudson would get ripped to shreds. Maybe someone like Caulker but he is probably way out of our league.

After that I'd want to try to sign a wide player, should be able to convince someone like Tom Ince to sign for us.

Then if we had all those in it would be a real bonus to get another striker in and maybe some more competition for McNaughton at right back, someone like Brayford would be good.

The striker is the difficult one, players like Lukaku on loan, Kone 6m, Anichebe 5m, Hooper 5.5m, Remy on loan, Altidore 9m, Borini on loan, Gayle 4.5m, Jerome, Chamakh all moved in the summer but not sure which ones we would have had a chance with.

If I'd got Ince I'd probably not have the budget left for a big money striker and would have had to go with someone like Odemwingie.

I was thinking about Wanyama. I would of signed 3 midfield players instead of just 1 last summer. Its very strange the Brayford situation, why sign KTC when we were covered for that position, very strange goings on, £40mil doesn't stretch that far when your buying quality players.

Definitely, if we got Ince instead of Cornelias it is a whole different story in terms of Malky's performance in the transfer market. Don't think it would have changed too much on the pitch but would have changed attitudes towards our spending massively. Cheaper options around but don't think anyone would have complained if money had gone on Ince instead of Cornelias.

Malky wasn't far off getting the squad he needed looking at it. The striker he went for was a mistake. If he signed Tom Ince the team would of got some quality work from him on his flank, A better player than Zaha at present & always had better stats than Zaha in the championship :ayatollah:

If Tan was willing to invest £40mil, I say he would of been wiser to go to about £55mil to vastly improve our chances. Very naive is our VT
