Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman denies dressing room 'outburst' following Hull City embarrassment

The Cardiff chief says he only entered the home team's dressing room to offer support to his beleaguered manager and players

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has refuted national newspaper reports that he burst into the home dressing room after their four-goal home defeat against Hull and told the players a five-day training trip to Abu Dhabi was off.

Dalman confirmed he did go into the dressing room, as usual, to support manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but didn’t say anything about the Abu Dhabi trip.

Both Dalman and Solskjaer insist it was the manager who made the decision to call off the trip to the Persian Gulf and that it was he told the players.

Dalman said: “I did go into the dressing room to support Ole and the boys. I didn’t say a single word (about Abu Dhabi).”

National reports had said players were stunned when Dalman “burst into the dressing room” and “called a crisis meeting”.

But Solskjaer said: “It was my decision, and mine alone, to cancel the Abu Dhabi trip.

“We need to work together and be focusing hard on the challenge ahead.”

City, who have won only once in seven league matches since Solskjaer took charge, are second from bottom in the Premier League with only Fulham below them and next visit fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Bluebirds have failed to score in their last three matches, against Aston Villa, Swansea and Hull, since beating Norwich 2-1 on February 1 and have 11 matches remaining.

Didn't believe it anyway.

what I don't get is that I'm sure I read somewhere that one of the problems Ole said we are facing is outdoor training is proving a problem because everywhere is under water.

I apologise because I have no links to this, I'm doing this off memory so it could be complete clap trap.

Anyway my point is IF this was correct and for whatever reason outdoor training is an issue due to the rain we've had then there's no way Ole would've cancelled the chance to spend a week in the sun with the squad surely?

Is this the same Mehmet Dalman who told us the club was fully behind Malky before they sacked him.
