OGS - tactically naive

Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:04 pm

He just does not seem to know what's he's doing & his constant changing of players is killing us.

Perfect example is what we saw on Saturday - playing 2 up front with 2 wingers both hugging the touch line left our 2 man midfield of Cowie & Ekreim completely over run by Hull's 4/5 men.
Let's hope he changes his ways before it's too late although IMO it already is.

We had no other CM's to combat Hull's strong midfield lol, Medel and Mutch are vital to us

Funny thing is, most on here moaned when he played 1 upfront

No need for a snidey lol.
Gunnarsson with Kim/Daehli in a central attacking midfield role. Whitts if fit, loads of different options.
Agree with regards to Medal & Mutch but it's still tactically ridiculous to leave the midfield swamped with our two wingers so wide.

Very true true Craig but in modern football you have to match the opposition midfield. The thing to do is to play a second striker in the no 10 role not a 4-4-2 with 2 stuck up top & 2 wingers out wide that don't tuck in.

His idea of how premierleague football should be played is completely outdated

May work in Norway - but this league is a million steps above

4-4-2 will always work if you have the players.

We haven't.

I'd be playing 5 across the middle myself looking at the squad we have available.

Correct! its back to the good ole days of Giggs & Beckham impersonations on our flanks. Just a shame for Ole that he doesn't have a Keane & Scholes to pick who can handle being outnumbered

Absolutely badbeatpeat the football that I'm watching us play at the moment is making me want to fall asleep too

He needs to rethink his tactics and get is playing premier league standard football by next Saturday if he wants any chance of keeping us up

Well the foundation of my argument is

1. he was brought in to save us from relegation and he has won 1 game, drawn 1 and lost 4
2. We have scored 4 goals in 6 games and conceded 14.
3. February was regarded as our easiest run of games in the season and we needed 9 points minimum to get back on track.. We
got 4 points...

I don't blame OGS - he got offered a shit load of money, a career boost and an opportunity to put the premier league on his CV.. Who wouldn't take that opportunity?

Tan and his administration fired a competent manager and hired a manager of little managerial experience - I blame them

I'm glad you got faith and I hope you are right I really do - but you are blind to the truth if you think that the standard of football we are playing is good enough to keep us in the PL

Right so you are a wind up account

Many people have "shit loads of money" - doesn't mean they can't be tempted by a lot more money...

He wasn't offered a job ANYWHERE else - he was quite happy at molde and reportedly didn't want to move away from Norway

He turned down the job with Cardiff the first two times he was asked - Tan practically begged him to come to us as he was dead set on a "household name" Tan extended his stay in the UK in order to persuade OGS to come

If you bothered reading any of my previous post you would see there is nothing to have faith in - we are playing shit and have had shit results since OGS started

I won't be replying to you're posts any more - obviously a windup
