How about a little mention for the city fans who booed him off the pitch

After a nice rest he should come back in for Spurs. I'd rather him over Eikrem. Also if Gary isn't back I'd like to see Whitts, Cowie and Mutch in midfield. Cowie's energy would make up for Whitts' laid back style and Mutch adds that bit of bite

He deserved to be taken off asap he was having a shocker! if zaha came on and scored a screamer you wouldnt even be making this thread. with whitts on the pitch he didnt look like scoring or contributing at all to the side and on came zaha and he changed the game and we won.

The last manager who played Whitts in his best position was Dave Jones. Whitts is a model pro and a top bloke. One day, he will get the credit he deserves. One of our greatest ever players. His loyalty to the club is second to none.

I'm sure you'd get a different performance from whoever gets picked and threads like this will disappear. Would it be good enough for Premier League level? No idea, but you can't slate players when they are playing out of position and doing a job for the sake of the team.

There's no doubt that the guy does go missing at times, however one thing he is capable of is scoring goals if played further forward and let's be honest we are not exactly well blessed in the goal scoring dept !

Whether or not this the answer I don't know , but certainly worth a try . If he's given another chance but further forward who knows, he's a confidence type player and if he does get a couple of goals then could be the answer for us !!

I like Whitts, he's been a great servant to this club.

However, he's been deservedly dropped - the stuff he's normally good at - free kicks, corners etc, have been shite this season.

I hope he uses this time to work hard and get back to the level of play we know he's capable of.

Subbing Whitts early was a good decision, as Zaha changed the game for us, even though we were fortunate to win at the end!

I also think you'll find that Whitts has been injured for the last couple of games!

Im a big fan Whitts but Malky destroyed him as a player and as a result he has lost any kind of confidence.

Wolf sadly made that stupid error in the first half against Hull but otherwise looked very comfortable on the ball and looked a lot more positive with his use of the ball.

I think Whitts needs some time out the team and to get some confidence again.

No-one is disagreeing he was rightly taken off and what a load of tosh.. you can't deny there was jeers and boo's when Whittinghams number and name was up and called.
